I'm new to Collector.  I've followed the tutorial and shared a map to a group of two.  We can both see the map via Collector, but only the author can use it to collect points.  What is the missing link?

Thanks,

Audrey

Hi Audrey,

What is the Role of the other user?  They may be assigned to an ArcGIS Online Role that does not have Edit privileges.

We are both publishers in the same group.  We each have created a map that we have shared to the group.  We can collect data on our own maps, but not on each others'.  The other's map is visible, but there is no + icon, and we cannot turn on or off the other's map layers in Collector.

Might this be a setting at the group level?  Or some error in how we are sharing?

Thanks for helping

Is it better to do this via email?

Can either of you edit each other's web map in the ArcGIS Online viewer?

When I open her maps in the online viewer (via pc), it opens, then gives me a series of error messages saying the various layers cannot be added to the map (the "collector" layers, and the tracking layer). This leaves only the base map.

From the details page, these are the contents she put in the map.

Map Contents carbondale tracking:https://services6.arcgis.com/qtHZoRrWRCQ8eh1J/arcgis/rest/services/carbondale_tracking/FeatureServer/0

She's not here at the moment to try mine, but will be able to try later.

I have an email in to our administrator, but he is not super Arc-savvy... we are at a university

Most likely the feature layers are not shared with the Group.  Make sure the web map and all associated feature layers are shared with the Group you are a part of.

Ok, I had originally shared it from Arc Desktop. Just now I re-shared it from the ArcOnline viewer, and she is able to access the editable layers. I'm not sure what I did wrong via the Desktop share, but will have to look into it later.

Thanks for your help!
