I would like to display visibility analysis on multipatch buildings like the example below.  Does anyone know how to do this?

Philadelphia Redevelopment Web Scenelink to this webscene: http://www.arcgis.com/apps/CEWebViewer/viewer.html?3dWebScene=86f88285788a4c53bd3d5dde6b315dfe

Hi Tatianna Swenda‌,

I guess Madeline Schueren‌ would know how to do it, as she wrote this blog: New Visibility Analysis Tools in CityEngine 2017.1.

In this blog she reviews three tools - the Viewshed tool, the View Dome tool, and the View Corridor tool - and the use cases surrounding each tool, and she goes through the steps to get started with these tools.

For a deeper dive into these CityEngine tools, more information is to be found in the online reference help.

Does this answer your question?

Cheers,

Hi Egge-Jan,

Thank you so much for your response.  The viewshed tools are great but I am asking about displaying the analysis on building surfaces.  How do I display the output of an analysis (raster) such as viewshed, solar radiation, etc.  on the surfaces of 3D buildings (i.e. multipatch) like was done in the Philadelphia Redevelopment Example webscene referenced in my original question?  Madeline Schueren, do you know how?  Thank you all in advance

Hi Tatianna,

Have a look at this solution. It was used to do the Philadelphia Redevelopment Example.

Thank you so much for your response.  I successfully completed this tutorial and will now try to apply the same tool to my site.
