Hello Everyone,

I'm new to city engine and I have created my first city layout the past few days. However, I have some real trouble learning CGA because I'm a professional 3D Artist, not a coder at any possible way. I need some help with these points please :

1 - How do I distribute my own buildings on my own city? I tried using the rule from Instance City, but first it didn't put the textures on my OBJ files, and second it messed up the scale, meaning the building was scaled up uniformly to fit each parcel, which led to an enormous scale (I used skyscrapers models). Any way I can do this in a clean way?

2 - How do I link my different maps to my OBJ assets to later use in CGA? Like reflection, glossiness, bump, and diffuse maps?

Thanks in advance!

Hi !

Currently, you will need to look at coding this in CGA, there's no way around this at the moment.

But theoretically, the approach of the instance City is correct. By inserting e.g. the asset with the best ratio. Just int his example it seems as you mention that the models are scaled. Try using the asset's original scale with
s(0,0,0)

Let me know.
