problems after changing project location

Hi all,

I'm encountering problems in Cityengine after I changed my projectlocation by exporting en importing my project. In my project there is a folder with some static models (.dae). If I try to drag a model from this folder into my viewport I get the import window. The folder and models are already imported. How can I fix this? I tried removing the folder with the models and import it again but that won't do anything.

Any ideas?

Best regards,

Patrick

It's a trap !

imports levels:

Workspace level :
import project into workspace

Project level :
import data into project, e.g. terrain images, assets, GDBs, ..

Scene level :
import data in scene ( cej file = viewport )

You see that workspace and project level are almost indistinguishable.
Importing data into the scene via drag-n-drop (opens the import dialog) basically copies the data into the cej, so you can see it in the viewport afterwards.

A bit misleading, we know..

Did this help ?

Hi Matthias!

Admiral Ackbar is always spot on!

The data is already imported in the project. But when I drag it into my viewport I get "the import recources from the local file system into an existing project" dialog screen. I can repeat this proces over and over but I won't get the models into my viewport.

ah, that issue.

seems a dialog issue.

I've seen this too, yes.

instead of drag-n-drop, try:

right mouse click on the data to import, then 'import ...'

we've fixed some stuff in this regard for CE 2013.

Hmm, tried this way, even exporting and importing only a few .dae models. It all doesn´t work. Maybe it has something to do with moving the project to a different location. I will try to bring the project to it´s original file location, maybe that´ll help.

p.s. Why don´t you skip Cityengine 2013 and name it Cityengine 2014, since the year is almost over... 😉
