New issue with Selection Saves in City Engine

Currently, the problem is that when I select the selection edit from the menu bar, City Engine freezes and does not respond.

This issue occurred when the previous saved selection was saved, but the layers were then copy and pasted to another group layer.

Thank you for reporting this issue. Can you please help me reproduce it.

Here is what I tired so far in CityEngine 2019.0:

1. Move Shape Layers into a Group Layer
2. Select these Shapes and save the selection to a Selection Set
3. copy/paste the Shape Layer into a new Group Layer
4. Open the Menu > Selection > Edit Selection Sets... window

What is missing

How many selection sets are in the scene?

Can you provide a scene with this issue?

Hi there, thank you for getting back to me.

I have resolved the problem.

Problem:

Once you delete the items that are in a saved section group. CE will freeze when you try to edit the selection set from the drop-down menue.

Solution:

1. Delete all layers in the file

2. Open the selection from the drop-down menu and delete all the saved selections.

3. Go back to your layers and press CTRL+Z to bring the layers back.

4. Now you can go to the section drop-down without CE crashing.
