Hi,

I have a obj-file and when I try to import it I get the message: The model´s original position is located too far...

When I the drag the model to the Viewport I only get the same message agin. Is there a bug or what am I doning wrong?

How to get it in to the Viewport?

Thanks,

Tomas

OBJ files have generally no georeference, the object coordinates are centered around 0. For georeferencing KML, Esri Scene Layer Packages (SLPK) or FGDB should be used.

OBJs need to be placed interactively by dragging them into the viewport. If there is no georeference, this should actually always work.

As a fallback you can specify an offset in the import dialog. When the OBJ has an unsuitable georeference, you first need to press the center button and then manually add the new georeference to this value. The numbers must be given in the CityEngine Coordinate System (y-up).

Alternatively OBJ assets can also be placed with CityEngine's CGA  i Operation
