CityEngine to Unreal Error

Hey All,

Trying to follow this tutorial and have CityEngine and Unreal installed but seem to be running into an error after importing the datasmith file into Unreal. Curious if anyone has any thoughts on what might be causing the error. 

I am running CityEngine 2024.1, have Unreal 4.27.2 installed and am using the version of CityEngine VR Experience linked in the article.

Hi @DJ_GIS,

It appears that the issue is related to incompatible Datasmith versions. CityEngine 2024.1 exports in a newer Datasmith format that cannot be imported into Unreal 4.27 without errors. Unfortunately, there isn't an easy workaround for this problem. I recommend trying the export with the suggested CityEngine version 2021.1.
