Hi,

I've installed CityEngine 2012 Trial Version on a machine with on board INTEL HD Graphics P3000 graphics card, INTEL Xeon CPU E31275 3.40 Ghz CPU and 16GB RAM. Whenever i try to launch the program, it reads the license successfully and becomes non-responsive at the stage below;

Any ideas?

Hi !

Try the '-Dagol' trick you find here:

Let me know if it works !

Cheers !

did you get it to work finally?
I see you have integrated Intel graphics card (shared memory), and according to hardware specs (http://resources.arcgis.com/content/cityengine/system-requirements) you need to have NVIDIA or ATI.
I am considering a new laptop where I want to run CE, it would be great if CE also runs in the dell laptops with Intel HD integrated memory.
any good experiences there?

Hi,

Still, CityEngine runs only on NVIDIA and ATI hardware. Intel will fail.

I recommend NVIDIA.

Also note that many laptops usually have 2 graphics cards. 1 onboard ( on the main board ) and 1 'main' card to save power. So I've seen cases where CE did not want to start because the power options were set to 'save power' and thus, the OS fell back to the builtin graphics card, which was an Intel one.

Ok ?
