The whole point of having a mobile version of the app, and a mobile version of the entire project, is so that all layers are available on the mobile version. As there is already  “Define areas” option, an alternative would be for the data I’m adding via the "Add Data” option would, by default, be added to the Pont Locations (sites).  Instead of “My point locations” it could be named “Site point locations.”  You can’t expect me to add 100, or 500, or 1,000 or more addresses one at a time just so that I can have a copy of the entire project on my phone!  Thank you.

Hi Jim, thank you for your feedback. Regarding the "Add Data" option in BA Web App, when you use Import File workflow within it, and add points, at the end you have the option to just save it as a layer, or to create sites from them by applying buffers (eg rings, drive times).

  • If you create sites, they will be saved under Point Locations (sites) and will be accessible in BA Mobile App.
  • If you do not create sites, the point layer is not available in your project in BA Mobile App. However, here is a workaround: you can open the layer on the map (in BA Web App), and use the Share map to ArcGIS option to save the points as a web map layer (leave the "Export map layers in a new hosted feature service" unchecked). Then, in BA Mobile App, under Menu, tap ArcGIS, tap My Maps, then tap BA - My Maps, and the web map layer will be available in the list there. Tap on it to load the points onto the map. You can then tap on any point and create a site from it in the BA Mobile App.

BA Mobile App is a companion to BA Web App and at this time does not include the full range of capabilities available in the web app. We appreciate your feedback and we will consider expanding access in BA Mobile App to project layers that are currently not accessible directly. Please feel welcome to let me know whether this workaround is useful, and share any further feedback.
