I'm painfully new at all this but here is the scenario: with help from ESRI, i was able to get the forms based authentication up and running for my silverlight viewer and deployed applications. My problem or hang-up is the fact that the simple forms solution stores user credentials coded in the login.aspx My ArcGIS server stores credentials in a SQL database and from an organizational standpoint it would be so much easier to adhere to that current workflow of creating and assigning users in SQL via AGS Manager. I've spent a good deal of time looking at various asp.net solutions but so far haven't found anything that doesn't seem to muck up the default.aspx in the root directory of the deployed silverlight app.
My questions are:
organizational convenience aside, does this plan make any sense or is it not really a safe method? keep in mind there is a proxy page in the background which the application is using to access secured services
can anyone point me in a direction that allows me to set-up a login scenerio as described? OR
can anyone point me in a direction which uses the now working forms based authentication but utilizes some sort of credential 'store' elsewhere which avoids relying on coding various users directly into the login?
I'm looking at managing various user levels for 30-40 people. This may belong better in another forum, but with seemingly complicated default.aspx that silverlight utilizes I thought it best to place my question here.
