Terminal login to ArcGIS API for Python OAuth 2.0 SAML

Hello,

I regularly use OAuth 2.0 to access ArcGIS Enterprise APIs.  I am typically in Jupyter Lab which eventually displays a pop-up that looks like this and works successfully.

I recently tried the same in a stand-alone windows (Python) terminal and all was well until I went to paste the OAuth 2.0 code (copied from Enterprise Website) into the terminal.  The terminal will not respond to keyboard (keystrokes or cntl v, etc) or mouse inputs.  The cursor is blinking to the right of the colon, but it only seems to respond to 'Enter' wherein the script continues and thus errors.

Anybody have any luck pasting OAuth 2.0/SAML codes in the terminal when prompted?
