Using Flex Builder 3 with the new API and Flex SDK

We developed a few Flex apps a couple of years ago, and have now come across another project where a Flex app would be well-suited, but I think our libraries and development tools are out of date.

I see where the new 3.0 version of the API for Flex has been released, but that it requires the Flex SDK 4.6  I have downloaded the ArcGIS API for Flex 3.0 and the Flex SDK 4.6 along with the latest version of the Flash Player (11.4).  However, we are still using the Flex Builder 3 development environment.  It seems there are incompatibilities between FB3 and the new SDK.  I've tried to compile with the -compatibility-version tag, but I can't get the program to recognize the ESRI mapping features and I can't model in DISPLAY mode.

Can anyone tell me if I can still use Flex Builder 3 with the new API and SDK?  My old ArcGIS API is version 1.1.  Is there a version of the API (1.2, 2.0) that I can still use with the older SDK and still use the new tiling structure of the ESRI mapping services?

I did some quick searching and could only find references to upgrading from Flex 3.

I strongly suggest you upgrade instead of trying to fight this battle.  It is worth it.

Thanks Brad.  That's what I am concluding.
