I was of the belief that the template picker in the editor widget was driven by the feature template in ArcMap. However, no matter what I do, I can't get my template picker to behave the way I'd like. The way it orders my features is absolutely maddening. It doesn't seem to have any sort of system or reasoning. I even created an attribute that's numbered from 1-10, and it orders those completely at random (though, consistently every time I recreate the service). It looks like the renderer simply takes the order given to it by the feature type of the feature service, so I can't see how to affect it with code.
I'm losing my mind, can somebody tell me how to sort my features in the template picker, and possibly remove unwanted features (categories)?
