Search widget error

I am getting 2 different error with search widget.  Every layer but 1 gives me this Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. 

I have one layer that returns this error [RPC Fault faultString="" faultCode="400" faultDetail="Unable to perform query. Please check your parameters."]

This is happening in both application I am running.  They both use the same services.

For error #2, there may be a problem with your expression query statement.

I have tried clearing the REST cache and this did not solve the problem.  This tool worked a couple of weeks ago and now it doesn't.  I am not sure what has changed.  I have removed a few layers from the dynamic services, but that is the only change I have made.  I have not changed the code from when it worked to the point where I started getting the error. 

It almost seems as though the search tool can longer connect to the services.

Can you post your resolution?  We are having the same issue and I'm looking for ideas.
