Just thought I would share what I think is a great book for getting up to speed with Flex 4.

I have been going through this and I really like what it has to offer.
Gives a good solid grounding in the fundamentals of flex. It has answered a lot of my questions about going from Flex 3 to 4. Would also be suitable for anyone with programming skills in different languages coming to Flex.

If, like me, you like real books rather than online videos or wikipedia, it might be worth a look.

If you have other training references, please share.

Mark,

   Sounds like a great resource.

I also recommend "Adobe (r) Flash Builder 4 and Flex 4 Bible" by David Gassner. It covers a wide spectrum, from fundamentals to advanced BlazeDS.

Training from the source is on my list, adding the Flex 4 bible as well. Thanks.
Two that I have gotten a lot of use from are Flex 4 In Action, print not available yet, but you can get the eBook, and I keep the Flex 4 Cookbook open pertty much all day.

I think ESRI should start sending you a check for all the help you have provided and the fires you have put out on this forum.  Thanks to guys like you, this is by far one of the best tech forums out there.

I'm waiting for this book: Learning Flex 4
http://www.amazon.com/Learning-Flex-Internet-Application-Development/dp/0596805632/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF...

I came across Learning Flex 3 and it was perfect for me, being a non-professional developer.
And it is readable in bed which the Flex 4 bible isn't for ordinary physically trained IT-people ;).

Hey, thanks Karl.  🙂  If I knew I was writing for some GIS devs I would have added an example or two using the Google Maps API.  Perhaps I can add something like that as an extra on the companion site's wordpress forum.  Cheers, Elijah
