I don't know how everybody think but after struggling for several weeks now, i think new forum sucks! you dont get email updates like you use to with old one. Also, there is no way to assign that this question has been answered or not.? Same thing with code gallery, it is impossible to load something and once loaded, most of the time, site is down or there is all kind of stuff that you don't need.

I  wish ESRI, do something similar to the way it was. Forum was very easy to use and code gallery was very simple and helpful....

There's a new sub-forum specifically for feedback on the new resource centers...

Thanks Bjorn,
I just want to see that

  • whether a question has been answered or not like we used to?

  • Codes from peers(not ESRI) as we used to

There are a few out there still who seem to be unable to receive forum notification emails from us. We're still looking into that, but we do know the emails are going out and many users do receive them. (they come from the address DoNotReply@esri.com) Until then, just want to be sure you know about the menu item above "Forum Actions > User Control Panel". You can see and manage all of your thread subscriptions there until we solve the problem of why some users get emails and some don't.

The function for the original poster to mark one of the replies as the best one (or as "the answer") is not yet built into the forum, but we plan to add this feature asap within the next few weeks. What we want is for ANY logged-in user to vote on answers, giving MVPs votes more weight. That should help the fact that in the old forums, threads were marked as "answered" only 8-12% of the time.

We did find some serious problems with the Galleries after we deployed the latest version of the Resource Center a couple weeks back. The last defects that could have prevented upload on some browsers was fixed last night. If you try again today I think you'll find it working now. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Thanks again for taking time to let us know your experience with the Resource Center and how we can improve.

The old and new code galleries, as well as the old (and very succcessful) ArcScripts included code from the user community and from ESRI staff.   We have no plans to separate the galleries into two sections, but we're open to hear if the community wants that.

In the thread list, we do display the number of replies on each thread.   Also, on the main forums page, there is a link at the bottom "Mark Forums Read".  If you click that last before leaving the forums, then when you come back you'll see new threads (as well as old threads with new posts) in bold.  Both in the thread lists and in your subscribed threads list in the User Control Panel.   I hope this helps a little until we can add the new function.
