KML and Shapefile widget coming soon?

Anyone is taking the lead to update hte KML widget? It will be great to see an update for loading local shapefile as well. Thanks for sharing your knowledge..

This widget is owesome. Tried it with flex viewer 2.0 beta. I wonder if there's way to hard code it to load a shapefile when the application is complete. Or using a TOC allows user to swich from one to another. This is like an open sourse solution for those without ArcGIS Server.

Just tried to play with this widget. 12 duplicat variable definition warnings were found. The shapefile is loaded, but the geolocation is way off. My original data's projection is NAD 83, UTM 17N. I conveted to to WGS84. Did I miss anything critical? Thanks for your thought.

I too am looking for this functionality.  It seems like this would be a fundamental function of any api, the ability to upload a shape file or kml from a local machine.

I need to load shape or kml file that is behind the firewall (local Gov). I tired to get the widget from

Do you know if there is widget similar to that?
