Edit Widget / Feature update in browser issue

I have a issue with the Edit Widget updating across multiple browser instances. On the creation of a new feature, the browser(s) will show the updated information if the map is moved or updated (perfect), but it will not show a 'delete' or 'modify' on that same feature, unless the browser is refreshed. It doesn't seem to be anything related to a browser cache. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.
Jeff

The feature in question is a simple Polyline that represents a firebreak/fireline. I want multiple users to be able to see this data as it changes. (without refreshing the browser)

The service updates fine when viewed in ArcCatalog, but the modify or delete doesn't update to Flex? This is not how it's supposed to work... is it?

Continuing with my one man thread...
The feature layers within the map service still don't update, but since the mapservice does, we have decided to create a end user version that just displays the mapservice without editing functions. This works fine for now, but I still would like to hear some suggestions on how to view the feature layer updates without refreshing the browser. Everything I've tried hasn't worked so far.
