I downloaded the new 2.0 Flex viewer and I noticed it also does not include out of the box the ability to add an arcIMS service as a layer. Has anyone successfully done this yet, and could you share the changes you did to the manager files?

I am specifically interested alos if anyone has experience with adding an arcIMS layer that has basic authentification to a flex veiwer. Using the 1.3 viewer it would randomly drop the security header (causing the browser to prompt for a password).

I'm at the point now where I am considering using a proxy to handle the authentification but have little to no experience using proxies with Flex. If anyone has some of that to share I would be deeply appreciative.

ArcIMS layers will be supported as a new layer type in the 2.1 viewer.

As for proxies for Flex, it's the same as any other proxies (there's nothing specific for Flex). As far as setting up a proxy page, there is a good write-up dor downloading and setting up a proxy at http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/javascript/arcgis/help/jshelp/ags_proxy.htm

Thanks bjorn.

Can you confirm if the 2.1 version will support secured (basic authentification) arcIMS layers?
