Hi All,
We are trying to become the BIM Viewer training provider for Hong Kong CIC (Construction Industry Council).
This training course requires a free software to view BIM files.
We would like to know if there is a way to convert IFC or Revit into scene layer package without using ArcGIS Pro.
Please kindly suggest.
Thank you,
April
The format specification can be found here: https://github.com/Esri/i3s-spec / https://docs.opengeospatial.org/cs/17-014r8/17-014r8.html
There is also a converter, but it can only convert slpks into different formats: https://github.com/Esri/i3s-spec/tree/master/i3s_converter
FME Supports the conversion: https://www.safe.com/integrate/esri-indexed-3d-scene-layer/ - other tools probably as well (I found this one for example: https://loaders.gl/modules/tile-converter/docs/cli-reference/tile-converter ).
Thanks for the information.
Seems there is no free conversion tool for IFC/Revit to SLPK.
This workflow currently requires ArcGIS Pro. Now since the I3S is an open standard you could in theory write your own converter if you were so inclined.
It looks like it is supported now by the latest version of this tool: https://loaders.gl/modules/tile-converter/docs/cli-reference/tile-converter
