What is the logic of the 'Match out of Range' setting in a locator created with the create locator tool?  By default it is set to Yes.

I geocoded a table of addresses against a multi-role locator that has Address Points and Street Address roles. When I rematch, there are no candidates found. However, with the same locator active in my map, I can get get a 98.9 score on an address that does not exist with the Locate tool:

That should just about do it....

@ShanaBritt, My locators were initially set to 'All categories supported by the locator'. When I clicked 'Only categories selected here', I only see the 'Address' and 'Coordinate System' categories. Where/How can I  find the 'StreeName' category?

Click on the arrow next to Address. that will open the address related subcategories that you can select/deselect.

Thanks. @JoshKalovGIS. I am testing this now.

Thanks Shana. I am using a composite locator. This morning I did more testing, and was able to successfully disable the StreetName category, so addresses won't match to streets without an address range.
