Whats the best way to tell if a feature class is 2D or 3D?

Look in the Shape field on the Attribute table and see if there is a 'Z' there.  So it will say PolylineZ or PolygonZ.  Otherwise you could look at the properties of the feature and see if it contains Z values on the general tab.

If it has a "Z" it's 3D
