From the Tables Window, the text on this dialog is all colored with a background color of Gray. Is this the expected look and feel for this dialog? This is applicable for both Scene and Globe.

look and feel of the dialog for ArcMap, too.  It doesn't look right?

Ted,

Did you get search and replace to work?  I have a text field that I am trying to perform a search/replace on partial values.  The help says it will not work with number fields.  I have text.  It finds the fields, but the "replace with" option is greyed out.  I don't know if I have a permissions issue or a software problem.

Thanks.

Jan -

Actually I haven't tried yet, but will try and get back to you just as soon as my data cache is cached.

It is Jan, right?

I just tried in Globe and did not see an issue with Text.  Granted there was only 7 features, but it worked as expected.

Search was for Box
Text Match - Any Part
Search - Down
Replace with Fox

It works in Scene as well.  Also, I am testing with a versioned dataset, for both these apps, so perhaps it does not work on a file GB, that I need to retry.

Yes it works.  Silly me forgot to be in editing mode as I mostly use the field calcutator outside of an edit session.  Once I was it edit mode, it worked, with one caveat.  It turns out my field width was not big enough to store the replaced characters.  The error message could be a bit clearer...The row contains a bad value. (see attached)  I went looking for bad data inside my table.  Eventually I figured out I needed a larger field and all is working now.

As an FYI, ArcMap crashed once or twice after adding a new field and then zooming out.  It has also crashed when editing a large polygon shapefile.  I have yet to determine if it is the zooming out afterwards or the exact cause.

And yes, I am Jan.:)
