Hi all,
I'm a relative newbie to 3D analysis, so not entirely sure this is the correct forum, but I have a question about doing 3D swath bathymetry analysis.
The problem is this: I have data that has been captured in intersecting swaths which do not match up to one another exactly - i.e. there are gaps between the swaths (as would be expected). When I put it into 3D analyst, it (naturally) tries to fill in the gaps with data. I have tried several methods to stop this happening (creating polygons to delimit the outline, setting the parameters within the TIN generator, deleting, etc), but nothing has proved to be a useful solution. I know that I am missing something fundamental here, but I really have no idea where to begin.
Before anyone asks if I have checked the internet first, I have indeed searched on every term I could think of, but with no luck at all. I have attached a simplified JPG of the way the data looks before it is processed, but I am pretty sure it won't help! If anyone could assist me with identifying the process that will give me the best results (i.e. no connections between the swaths except where they overlap, etc), I would be very grateful! I can get access to any extensions required, if 3D analyst is not the answer.
Thanks so much!
