Interpolate Multipatch features to Terrain

We were given multipatch features from a consultant, delivered as mdb but converted to gdb (version 10.1). They used a terrain that was not as good as the one we have when they created the buildings. Our terrain was created from LiDAR points and I am unsure what they used as terrain but it's rough compared to ours. The problem is that the multipatch features sit above and below the terrain, varying throughout the data. Does anyone know of a way to grammatically adjust the multipatch features to sit appropriately on the terrain?

One workflow that was used was I determined the difference between the z-minimum for the multipatch footprints and the terrain
value. Then created a model to automatically adjust the multipatch features by that amount (varied between features). This worked for the most part but for the multipatch features that are located on a drastic elevation change don't look as good as they should. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Why not keep the footprint from the multipatch and generate a new multipatch based on your more accurate terrain data?  Once you convert the raster to a TIN or Terrain you can use the Interpolate Polygon to Multipatch tool.
