Interpolate Line / Profile Graph automation?

I am looking for ways to automate the Interpolate Line and Profile Graph 3D Analyst tools, most likely using ArcObjects, but I haven't found any worthwhile information. I just want to interpolate a line that is already located in a shapefile on the map, and create a profile graph of it, saving this image to a location on the hard drive. Anyone know where to start, or have some links of useful information? We are using ArcGIS 10.

Would this be better located in the ArcObjects forum?

Have you tried using geoprocessing tool to create 3d feature class and the convert that feature class to  text file? You can plot the text file to create the graph. If you 're interested, let me know and i can show you how it's done.
