Hi There,

I am looking for the most direct way to get contours found in GDB Tble files and Shape files to come into Autodesk Civil 3D at elevation.

I would prefer not to have to run a query and alter properties inside of Civil 3D to place the polylines at elevation.

I am currently evaluating ArcGIS with the 60 day trial version.

Much thanks in advance,
Fred

I usually go into the attributes table and create a column called "Layer" as a string and assign it the name you want the layer to be and then create a short integer column called "elevation" and set it equal to the column that has the contour elevations. When you then export to CAD it should preserve the elevation data and the layer data.
