Creating TIN from shapefile

Hi,
     I am having  contour's shapefiles which are of sizes 120MB to 250 Mb. Mine problem is that i am able to create TIN if the file size is 120 Mb if it is more than that 3D analyst doest not work.
Would anybody plz guide me how to create TIN/DEM from these large size shpefiles.
