Hello,

I have a TIN and Raster from an inlet bay in Algarve representing the depth bathymetry. I need to calculate the cross-section area in two places, one near the inlet entrance, another insite the bay, so I can then transpose water flow calculus. Yet, I am not finding a solution to do so.

Can anyone suggest me options on how I can calculate these 2 cross-section area?

Thank you very much

Based on your description, I would use the 3d Analyst Tool Interpolate Shape. Simply create a line feature running where you would like the cross section. Then use the Profile graph, with the idea that the horizontal scale is not the distance, but is just distance along the line not the actual horizontal distance.

You could also use HEC-GEORAS to create your 2 cross sections and then just pull your area out of HEC-RAS.
