ArcGlobe panning causes crash

In ArcGlobe - Using the navigation tool to pan through view causes ArcGlobe to crash.  It may be related to trying to change the view quickly?  Sometimes the view will stick (~flicker).  Sometimes this causes ArcGlobe to crash other times it will un-stick and work as expected.  The crash generates a prompt to send an error message to ESRI, but it fails to send.

Sorry to hear about the troubles you've experienced... please try the following and see if the issue persists:


  • Install the latest available driver for your graphics card

  • Confirm the screen refresh rate is at a value supported by the monitor

  • If issue persists, reduce the hardware acceleration setting that can be found in XP computers from the Display Properties Control Panel > Settings tab > Advanced button > Troubleshoot tab


If you still experience trouble, please reply with the make and model for your graphics card.
