Hi,
I have a grid with values, and want to know the values of the gridcells where my points are situated. Until now I took the tool surface spot and had always my infos.

Now in Arcgis 10 the tool has gone.....and the tool "add surface Information" do not take the value, it makes an interpolation. But I DONT WANT INTERPOLATION, I only need the value of the gridcell.

WY DID YOU CANCEL THIS TOOL......PLEASE GIVE IT BACK TO US.

Thanks Astrid

In the help documentation for the Surface Spot tool, "this calculates surface values for each point of a point feature class by interpolating from a raster or TIN surface."

http://webhelp.esri.com/arcgisdesktop/9.3/index.cfm?id=1225&pid=1221&topicname=Surface_Spot_%283D_An...

The Surface Information Tool also "uses a surface to interpolate heights for features."

http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/index.html#//00q900000016000000.htm

I believe the output created should be the same.  The position of the point needs to be 'interpolated' to determine its exact location on the GRID.  If the values are much different, then please log a support call as that is something that should be documented and investigated.
