I am trying to create a 3D cone using the '3D Simple Marker Symbol' type within Graduated Symbols, pointed in the direction of flow. The velocity of the vector in the horizontal has been selected for the 'Value' field and the direction of the vector in the horizontal has been selected for the 'Advanced - Rotation' field. When I change the rotation angles in the '3D Placement' dialog box so that the cone appears to orientated with the flow (i.e. with an x rotation angle of 270 degree), it seems to stretch out displaying meaningless data.
Has anyone managed to visualise a cone in such a way?
