Hello,

I want to do some of the ESRI web courses that teach how to use 3D Analyst.

I want to get the best value for my money as I have a limited training budget.

I'm not sure weather it would be best to do the Learning ArcGIS 3D Analyst course (21 hours) at $192 USD

http://training.esri.com/gateway/index.cfm?fa=catalog.webCourseDetail&courseid=1441

Or do these 3 courses seperately:

3D Analysis of Surfaces and Features Using ArcGIS 10 (3 hours) as $32 USD

http://training.esri.com/gateway/index.cfm?fa=catalog.webCourseDetail&courseid=2049

3D Visualization Techniques Using ArcGIS 10 (3 hours) as $32 USD

http://training.esri.com/gateway/index.cfm?fa=catalog.webCourseDetail&courseid=2023

Creating 3D Data Using ArcGIS 10 (3 hours) as $32 USD

http://training.esri.com/gateway/index.cfm?fa=catalog.webCourseDetail&courseid=2102

Could I get away with only doing the above three course or would you recommend the Learning ArcGIS 3D Analyst course first?

This depends on the version of ArcGIS you have. The compressive "Learning 3D Analyst" course seems good (i did the equivalent Spatial Analyst course version) but it is specific to versions 9.2 and 9.3. I believe there is a classroom equivalent (ungodly expensive) but it is very new and only available in very few locations.

I don't think those 3 courses cover as much material as the 21 hour course but there have been significant changes to 3D analyst in version 10 so the 9.2/9.3 might be too outdated.
