We need to be able to find out what the WKID/Factory Code is for a GeoTransformation. ITransformation, IGeoTransformation and GeoTransformation all do NOT show a WKID or Code eventhough it specifies right on the API documentation "Generic geotransformation class, holds either a WKT (string) or a WKID (factory code)." The only thing I have access to, to identify a GeoTransformation is "Name" however, which is against their documentation. The GeoTransformationClass (COCLASS) does indeed have a "Code" property. However, I do not see any instructions anywhere whatsoever, that details how to use this class. There's no constructor, statics, and you cannot cast a GeoTransformation to a GeoTransformationClass. Could someone give us a hand on this one? We need to find out the WKID code for a GeoTransormation (and currently cannot see a way to do so). Thank you

Some more details to this problem, it occurs with 10.1.1 as well as 10.2. Also the Output in Visual Studio's console shows either of the following 2 errors: If I try and run LocalServer.Initialize() ArcGISRuntime: ArcGIS Runtime starting A first chance exception of type 'System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception' occurred in ESRI.ArcGIS.Client.Local.dll Or if I just let it try and initialize the local geometry service with the code in the first post: ArcGISRuntime: ArcGIS Runtime starting ArcGISRuntime: ArcGIS Runtime startup failure: The system cannot find the file specified I have created the Deployment using Deployment Builder 10.1.1 (or Deployment Builder 10.2), and put the ArcGISRuntime10.1.1 (or ArcGISRuntime10.2) folder in the OUTPUT directory of the application. On the development machine, if I put this deployment folder in there, I get the error as well (if I remove it on the deployment machine it uses the development environment of the SDK and works fine, but on the deployment computer, it gives the same exact error). I would appreciate any ideas at this point, as for some reason this super obvious issue that occurs even on a sample application has not been documented anywhere that we can find online. Literally the string "ArcGIS Runtime startup failure" does not appear on the net other than for a licensing issue (which ours isnt).

We are having issues deploying to a test machine. Our application uses the 10.2 SDK WPF components and everything works fine on the development system. However, if we add the "ArcGISRuntime10.2" folder from the deployment builder and execute the application we get a crash Inside the ArcGIS toolkit code as follows: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at ESRI.ArcGIS.Client.Local.LocalServer.InitializeDone(Exception error) at ESRI.ArcGIS.Client.Local.LocalServer.InitializeInternal() at ESRI.ArcGIS.Client.Local.LocalServer.InitializeAsync(Action callback) at ESRI.ArcGIS.Client.Local.LocalService.StartServiceInternal(QueryParameters serviceSpecificParams) at ESRI.ArcGIS.Client.Local.LocalGeometryService.StartGeometryServiceInternal() at ESRI.ArcGIS.Client.Local.LocalGeometryService.StartAsyncImpl() at ESRI.ArcGIS.Client.Local.LocalService.StartAsync() at ESRI.ArcGIS.Client.Local.LocalGeometryService.StartAsync() at ESRI.ArcGIS.Client.Local.LocalGeometryService.GetServiceAsyncInternal(Action`1 callback) at ESRI.ArcGIS.Client.Local.LocalGeometryService.GetServiceAsync(Action`1 callback) Can anyone provide any assistance, we have tried countless things to attempt to fix this, but there is no logs, no intelligent output that would give us clues as to why the ArcGIS components are failing. We have tried 23-bit, 64-bit. No change and same exception. We have tried Basic/Standard licenses, no difference. This occurs when we do: LocalGeometryService.GetServiceAsync(lgs => { geometryService = new GeometryService() { Url = lgs.UrlGeometryService }; });

Hi Guys, I have an app that lets the user record a polygon and writes it to a file. One of the attributes included is the Area of the polygon, i am using the following code to calculate the area: [self.geometryEngine shapePreservingAreaOfGeometry:<PolygonGeometry> inUnit:AGSAreaUnitsHectares]; Although, this codes gives out the area. I am not sure if it is the right calculation. Can anyone tell me if my calculation is correct? or how to accurately calculate the area of a polygon in hectares. Thanks. EDIT: It seems that i just need to project my polygon first to an Equal Area Projected Coordinate System and then use the shapePreservingAreaOfGeometry function.

Hi guys, I was encountering the same file size issue on tpk files larger than 2GB so i decided to revert back to 2.3.2 for now. During the downgrade, i have changed a lot from my code to cater the downgrade since some of the functions that i used are only available in 10.1. After all of the code issues are resolve, I am now encountering another set of issues which are all "Apple Mach-O linker Error". These are my current build settings: Other Linker Flags : -ObjC -all_load -framework ArcGIS Framework Search Paths : /Library/SDKs/ArcGIS Header Search Paths : /Library/SDKs/ArcGIS/ArcGIS.framework/Headers Library Search Paths : /Library/SDKs/ArcGIS.framework/Versions/Current this is the base error that i got whenever i try to run my app: "std::basic_ios<char, std::char_traits<char> >::clear(std::_Ios_Iostate)", referenced from: esriGeometryX::MultiPathImpl::SaveToTextFileDbg(char const*) in ArcGIS(MultiPathImpl.o) esriGeometryX::MultiPathImpl::LoadFromTextFileDbg(char const*) in ArcGIS(MultiPathImpl.o) esriGeometryX::OperatorFactoryLocal::SaveJSONToTextFileDbg(char const*, esriGeometryX::Geometry*, esriGeometryX::SpatialReference*) in ArcGIS(OperatorFactoryLocal.o) esriGeometryX::OperatorFactoryLocal::SaveShapeToBinaryFileDbg(char const*, esriGeometryX::Geometry*) in ArcGIS(OperatorFactoryLocal.o) esriGeometryX::OperatorFactoryLocal::LoadShapeFromBinaryFileDbg(char const*) in ArcGIS(OperatorFactoryLocal.o) "std::basic_ostream<char, std::char_traits<char> >& std::__ostream_insert<char, std::char_traits<char> >(std::basic_ostream<char, std::char_traits<char> >&, char const*, int)", referenced from: esriGeometryX::MultiPathImpl::SaveToTextFileDbg(char const*) in ArcGIS(MultiPathImpl.o) esriGeometryX::OperatorFactoryLocal::SaveJSONToTextFileDbg(char const*, esriGeometryX::Geometry*, esriGeometryX::SpatialReference*) in ArcGIS(OperatorFactoryLocal.o) ld: symbol(s) not found for architecture i386 clang: error: linker command failed with exit code 1 (use -v to see invocation)

Hi guys, i was wondering on how to properly extract the contents of a tpk file and save it again as a tpk file? I tried just converting the tpk file to a zip file and extract the contents, although the extraction was successful, when i tried to compress it to a zip file and converted it again to a tpk file. ArcMap cant read it anymore. My guess is the file was corrupted during my process. Is there any 3rd app that can help me? Or a specific process that i should do? thanks.

try this:
_defaultSpatialRef = [AGSSpatialReference spatialReferenceWithWKID:3163];
AGSGeometryEngine *engine = [AGSGeometryEngine defaultGeometryEngine];
AGSPoint *point = [AGSPoint pointWithX:currentLocation.coordinate.latitude y:currentLocation.coordinate.longitude spatialReference:[AGSSpatialReference spatialReferenceWithWKID:WKID_WGS84]];
AGSPoint *pointProjectedToWGS84 = (AGSPoint *)[engine projectGeometry:point toSpatialReference:[AGSSpatialReference spatialReferenceWithWKID:WKID_WGS84]];
AGSPoint *projectedPoint= (AGSPoint*)[engine projectGeometry:pointProjectedToWGS84 toSpatialReference:_defaultSpatialRef];
i don't really know why but i encountered this problem too and had to project the point to WGS84 before i can project it to my desired spatial reference.
