Hey Johannes, thank you for your reply. Sadly I have nothing in the Attributes to reference those two files with one another. Plus (I am guessing) this would only correct the matching points and leave all non matching points as is, the drift is affecting all points though and I was hoping to find a tool which identifies the drift based on the matching points and then applies a correction to all points. Now that I write that out I realize that I should maybe look into machine learning.

Hey everyone, I am working with shapefiles which in part contain the same points but I assume due to reprojections in the past or possibly recalculations of geometries with different accuracies, those points drifted apart and i am now left with files that plot like this: Is there any tools availible to identify and correct this drift so I can properly identify the matching points? Sadly the drift is not completely uniform across all points so simply moving all points by x/y is not an option. Any ideas appreciated. Thanks a lot.

To follow up on my error message from a few weeks ago. I finally got some time to dive a bit into my problem and found that it didn't work with the text field-type for the epsg-field as the expression row_dict[epsg_field] returned the referency system like this: "31467" instead of 31467 which is what arcpy.SpatialReference() seemst to expect. Changing the epgs-field type to long fixed the problem. Works like a charm now, thanks again.

I just had the same problem and was able to succesfully package the project by specifying to include the geoprocessing history (last option on the Create package pane)

sadly I wasn't able to get it to work, seems to be a conflict with the ObjectID-field. After trying for the last two hours I keep getting either error. ERROR 000012: OBJECTID ist bereits vorhanden. or WARNING 000012: ObjectID ist bereits vorhanden. ERROR 000800: Der Wert ist kein Mitglied von Text | Float (einfache Genauigkeit) | Double (doppelte Genauigkeit) | Short (kleine Ganzzahl) | Long (große Ganzzahl) | Datum | Blob (Binärdaten) | Raster-Bilddaten | GUID (Globally Unique Identifier). Fehler beim Ausführen von (AddField). I'm not much of a programmer, so I dont really know how do go from here apart from somehow trying to get rid of the ObjectID in my input table .. as the field is generated automatically this idea proved fruitless to far..

Hello everybody, I was wondering if it is possible to create a point feature from an xy table which contains coordinates in different coordinate systems if the table has a column containing the epsg-code for each row. Same goes for z-value and a column containing information about the vertical reference. I know i can split the table by coordinate system, create point features for each and then merge but I was wondering if there is a possibility to to this in a single operation, basically choose the coordinate system by attribute. Hello everyone, I have a table and a shapefile containing lining up points The Shapefile contains all points in order from 1 to x without any additional metadata kinda like this iD Shape 1 Point 2 Point ... ... X Point The other table contains infos about the Naming of Profiles which are made up of those points something like this: Name iD from iD to Profile 1 1 50 Profile 2 51 90 ... ... ... Profile Y 23455 23501 I am trying to join those features in a way that I add a column to my shapefile containing the info about the Profile names like so: iD Shape Profile Name 1 Point Profile 1 2 Point Profile 1 ... ... ... 50 Point Profile 1 51 Point Profile 2 ... ... ... 90 Point Profile 2 ... ... ... I reckon there must be some way to join tables, but having to columns with start and end ID's is throwing me off. Does anyone have an idea? Thank you

Hi all, i am working with some fairly old maps which contain a grid of sectors which are based off of geographic lat/lon lines. Considering the age I presume those maps were created with some old geodetic datum. My goal is to recreate that grid as a shapefile/feature class. I can create a geographic grid via Layout in arcgis pro in my current project (which uses the UTM 32N/ETRS89 coordinate system (EPSG 4647)) which i presume is then based on the ETRS89 datum, since thats the projects working system. This grid is already fairly close to my old maps. To create grids in another coordinate system I created different projects with different working coordinate systems and created the grids there and then tried to load these into my project. Here is where I am tripping. All of the grid I created are off by way more (several km) than I anticipated, also these dont correlate at all to the old maps. Even when I created a grid in ETRS89 (EPSG 4258 in this case) it was off by roughly the same amount. I expected at least this one to perfectly overlap with the grid I created in my original file. Clearly I am making some error I am not considering here. Can someone with a bit more knowledge in projections and transformations give me a hint on how to achieve my original goal? I have a feature class containing thousands of lines which gets confusing to look at/work with. So my idea was to create a grid overlaying my map in which I can select any given quadrant and get all lines intersecting only this specific quadrant. The closest I have come to realise that idea is the select by location tool which is not quite what I was hoping to do. I was wondering if there is a way to click a quadrant and automatically select corresponding lines kind of like relationship classes work, without taking the detour to the selector each time. Any other tips to visually "declutter" or ways to automatically visualise only a subset of large datasets would also be much appreciated. Thanks a bunch!

Thanks a lot, I was somewhat hoping to get around creating a feature class for the samples because of the many redundant points this introduces. Anyhow, creating that feature class and then building a relation between it and the formation table accomplished what I was trying to do (beeing able to browse formations and clicking them to see corresponding samples on a map).
