We are attempting to use ArcGIS Runtime in an application used to survey an area. The area we are surveying is going to be remote and cell reception there is particularly bad - thus, we don't have access to the internet or any arcgis web services. We have a quadrotor that we're using to take some areal photography that we're turning into an altitude map and top-down view of the region. We would like to import this data into our ArcGIS Runtime Scene to be able to view and play with the results in our application. I see there is a way to use a RasterElevationSource from a DT* file. Is there something similar for a top-down image? Is there an example of this in action? Could you point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Upgrading to the android runtime 100.4.0 in our project we got an error stating the following: [INFO] ...\target\unpacked-libs\cea_arcgis-android_100.4.0\res\values-ar\values-ar.xml:40: error: Multiple substitutions specified in non-positional format; did you mean to add the formatted="false" attribute? [INFO] [INFO] ...\target\unpacked-libs\cea_arcgis-android_100.4.0\res\values-ar\values-ar.xml:40: error: Unexpected end tag string [INFO] [INFO] ...\target\unpacked-libs\cea_arcgis-android_100.4.0\res\values-bs\values-bs.xml:40: error: Multiple substitutions specified in non-positional format; did you mean to add the formatted="false" attribute? [INFO] ... Which is caused because line 40 on many (if not all?) values*.xml files in the android runtime aar have multiple %s replacements wihtout the formatted="false" flag: <string name="arcgisruntime_error_out_of_range">"Value is outside the valid range %s to %s"</string> The fix for this seems easy, either add the formatted="false" flag or number the replacements within the resouce following Google's guidance: String resources | Android Developers We are building using Maven and Netbeans and this looks to be an issue exposed by the maven-android-plugin - I am unable to get this to fail when building with Gradle. The Maven build seems to be a bit more agressive about validating library resources than the Gradle android build. Now, before you suggest that we just change our build over to Gradle, we're in the process of doing so. I am filing this issue so that the developers will know about this and have the information to do the right thing. I have also contacted support about this previously, but I was told that it wouldn't be a priority since our build is non-standard. I have filed an issue with the android-maven-plugin as well here: Building project with malformatted aar values.xml causes build to crash · Issue #783 · simpligility/android-maven-plugin…

Is there a way to combing the Mobile Map Package map data with an online map? I'm thinking this would serve two purposes: 1. To be a base map under labeled streets and other features. 2. Provide a fail back map in case there is no online connectivity - in other words, when the internet or a connection to our map server is unavailable at least we have the mmpk data to display. In our application we currently use the Mobile Map Package (mmpk) data successfully similar to the example here: arcgis-runtime-samples-java/OpenMobileMapPackageSample.java at 51d6a28d12e425f7ae52d41c3737bd4a3f3f02af · Esri/arcgis-ru… Is there a way to add an online map to the MapView object as another layer or something else?

I am currently adding symbols to a map in two different techniques. My goal is to add icons (PictureMarkerSymbol) with text (TextSymbol) within a CompositeSymbol. The first technique I use is to add the icon and graphics directly via the Graphic constructor. The target of this technique seems to be more appropriate for dynamic data sets. Using this technique I am able to move the graphics around the map and update parts of the CompositeSymbol (rotate the PictureMarkerSymbol). The second technique I use is to leverage a UniqueValueRenderer. Via the renderer I pre-define every unique CompositeSymbol and look them up after the fact. This technique seems to target more static data sets. Both of these work well enough, but I am faced with a couple questions: 1. Using the Graphic constructor technique is it possible to change the image displayed within the PictureMarkerSymbol? I would like to change the icon based on a status of the underlying associated data point. 2. using the Renderer approach, is it possible to set the text displayed with the TextSymbol for each Graphic, possibly based on the Graphic parameters? If I could dynamically change this, this might signifincatly simplify my UniqueValueRenderer. Likewise, is it possible to affect other properties of a Renderer's symbol, perhaps rotating a symbol within a CompositeSymbol? If this is possible I could use a Renderer instead of the Graphic constructor approach. Thanks.

In our project, we are displaying a variety of labeled images (PictureMarkerSymbols). When more than one of these images are close together the text labels become impossible to read because they overlap. Is there a way to declutter the text in a GraphicOverlay by either repositioning the text or grouping graphics together?
