I can't remember the precise reason why but the organisation has moved to StatMap, although there is still access to the older Geodatabase and some licences of ArcGIS around. The idea being to use ESRI as little as possible as alternatives are cheaper. However, the alternatives can't do everything.

Thanks for your reply. The databases are on SQL Server 2017. I currently have ArcGIS Pro 2.9 installed and when I go to change a feature styling, the application keeps crashing. So I was thinking of upgrading it to the latest version but needed to know if version 3.2 would support the database I need to access.

At work we have an 10.6.1 SDE database. What is the latest version of ArcGIS Pro that can connect to this? Would ArcGIS Pro 3.2 work? I tried to look this information up but couldn't find anything online. Many thanks

Having managed to get the layer files to load in ArcGIS 2.6, please can someone explain how one gets the symbols to display correctly? Is there an OS font that needs to be installed and if so, how does one get hold of this?

Don't know whether to ask this hear or in the ArcGIS Pro forum. I have some MasterMap data which I wish to style up using the default styles. ESRI layer files are available here: GitHub - OrdnanceSurvey/OSMM-Topography-Layer-stylesheets: SQL scripts & cartographic stylesheets for OS MasterMap Topog… However, when I take the Schema 9 files and match them to a File Geodatabase using ArcMap 10.6.1, it says some fields are missing. The file Geodatabase was created using the UK Data Loader part of the Data Interoperability tool by a colleague.

When I switched maps in a layout, how do I stop the legend text size from changing? Same applies to patches. They seem to revert to the default. If there a setting within the map itself that governs this or is it just the why ESRI designed the software to work? I'm hoping there is a solution because it's annoying. interestingly the text wrapping value persists and doesn't change.

Not sure how many releases there has been since January 2019 but I'm on the latest one and I've just hit the issue. I guess I could have gone back to ArcMap in order to accommodate the scaling of legend but ArcMap doesn't support having 12 maps and 12 layouts in the one document. ArcView 3.1 did but no idea if that supported scaling of legends and even if it did, it's long been out of support.

I've just realised something. It says in the Map Format Pane. At the bottom of that Pane is wording Elements. What is that section of the Pane referred to us? It can't be Pane title as that is Map Format unless there are two titles.

Many thanks. That answers the question perfectly. I could have done with an image like that in the help documentation. It's very text-heavy and light on screenshots.

I've now found the answer: Add and modify map frames—Layouts | Documentation Change the map Point the map frame to another map in the project. In the Format Map Frame pane on the Options tab, under Map Frame, choose a different map or scene from the drop-down menu. In the Current selection tab, under Map Frame -> Formate, there is a small box with an arrow that is titled Element Properties. Not sure where the Options tab is, assuming it exists under that name. I couldn't see it but maybe it's located elsewhere.

I need to produce six maps at A1 and six maps at A3 and on them the only thing to change is one layer of information. This is in ArcGIS Pro 2.5. I am creating a layout for the first map. Is it possible to copy this and then in the copied version, point the map frame to a different map. Workflow is Map 1 show on Layout 1 in a Map Frame Copy Layout 1 to be Layout 2. Now wish to point the Map Frame away from Map 1 to point to Map 2. In doing this the map frame will remain in the same place on the page and all the titles; scales and keys will be in the same place - prior to them being shifted according to the amount of symbology that is to be displayed. I could create a bookmark is the location and scale cannot be maintained. If this isn't possible does anyone have any other ideas on the fastest way to create multiple maps with identical layout positions? Cheers

Thanks, Travis for replying The phones were logged into my organisation's Wifi. Obviously when out in the field, I would be using mobile data and not be on the same network, which in the case of Collector, is the whole point of it. I'm not certain how I would go about importing the web server's root certificate to my phone. Is there any ESRI documentation on getting Portal to work on mobiles and also getting Portal to work in Collector?

I'm trying to connect to an ArcGIS portal using the ArcGIS Companion on a work mobile. However, I am getting the warning: Please enter a valid ArcGIS URL. The URL I am using ends with /portal and is taken from our portal home page - minus everything in the home page URL after /portal. Can anyone offer any advice on this? Many thanks, I also wish to do similar to this with the Collector app. In that case, it is on my own phone and not a work one.

Strangely enough I an enquiring about this as I have 2.3 installed and I wanted to upgrade to 2.4. I am using an SQL Server 2012 and 2.4 doesn't support 2012. The database is due to be upgraded this year but until then..... I'm now going to do some edits so hopefully by running 2.3.3 it doesn't cause errors. I'd rather not have to downgrade it. The alternative is to downgrade my ArcMap 10.7 to ArcMap 10.6.1. However, I'm trying to be modern and use ArcGIS Pro as much as possible. This idea has only been reviewed and isn't yet under consideration. I do hope ESRI consider it. I also hope they put previous help versions on here too, rather than just doing it going forward. Finally, a workaround is to install the offline help files from older versions.

Thanks for your reply. It is an annotation but when I rotate the map I find the text rotates with it. I still want the text to remain horizontal, as it looks odd for building names to be at an angle other than horizontal.
