Dear Sir and Madam, The ArcMap GPS toolbar could only support NMEA-GGA which contain Lat, Long information. However, I would like to use the NMEA-LLQ or NMEA- LLK becasue they contain Easting and Northing information. Do anyone have expereicen to modify the GPS toolbar and make it support NMEA-LLQ or NMEA- LLK ? Regards Gary Sham

Dear Sir/Madam, Does ArcGIS Mobile support Leica GPS device and RTK measurement? I am trying to implement a mobile mapping system using Leica GPS device (1200 serious) with ESRI product like ArcMap, ArcGIS Mobile. In Hong Kong, the government has implemented a Satellite Reference Station Network (SatRef) and broadcast the correction signal to the GPS receiver for RTK measurement. I would like to use ArcGIS Mobile to connect the GPS reviver and receive the SatRef correction signal from the government to compute the coordinate of the measured point in real-time. Then the ArcMap can show the measured point on screen. Do you have any idea and suggestion about this? Thank you for your consideration. Remarks: NMEA is used for real time position of GPS receiver RTCM is used for broadcasting the correction signal from government to GPS receiver. Regards Gary

Thank You so much Now I can select the AssetPolygon. However I am fail to refreah the map in order to show which AssetPolygon(s) is/are selected by the spatialFilter, any can help ? My code is as follew : Set pAssetFeatureClass = pAssetLayer.FeatureClass Set pSpatialFilter.Geometry = pFeature.Shape pSpatialFilter.SpatialRel = esriSpatialRelIntersects Set pFeature = pEnumFeat.Next Set pAssetFeatureCursor = pAssetFeatureClass.Search(pSpatialFilter, Flase) Set pAssetFeature = pAssetFeatureCursor.NextFeature Do Until pAssetFeature Is Nothing NumOfAsset = NumOfAsset + 1 Set pAssetFeature = pAssetFeatureCursor.NextFeature Loop Dim pDoc As IMxDocument Set pDoc = ThisDocument Dim pMap As IMap Set pMap = pDoc.FocusMap Dim pActiveView As IActiveView Set pActiveView = pMap pActiveView.Refresh ---------- It does not seem work !!!!!

Actually, I have two polygon feature classes (RoadPolygon and AsstPolygon). The user selects a RoadPolygon and my code can find out all AsstPolygon which intersect with the selected RoadPolygon. I already write some code in VBA but seem does not work, anyone can help ? ' Find out the correct layer of RoadPolygon and AsstPolygon For i = 0 To (pMap.LayerCount - 1) If pMap.Layer(i).Name = "RoadPolygon" Then Set RoadLayer = pMap.Layer(i) End If If pMap.Layer(i).Name = "RoadAssetPolygon" Then Set AssetLayer = pMap.Layer(i) End If Next i ' Build a spatial filter Dim spatialFilter As ISpatialFilter Set spatialFilter = New spatialFilter With spatialFilter ' Set .Geometry = pMap.FeatureSelection ? ,pPointCollection ?, pFeature 'I don't know .GeometryField = AsstLayer .SpatialRel = esriSpatialRelIntersects End With Dim featureSelection As IFeatureSelection Set featureSelection = AsstLayer featureSelection.SelectFeatures spatialFilter, esriSelectionResultNew, False pDoc.ActiveView.Refresh 'Dim featureSelection As IFeatureSelection 'Set featureSelection = AsstLayer 'featureSelection.SelectFeatures spatialFilter, esriSelectionResultNew, False 'pDoc.ActiveView.Refresh

Dear all, I have two polygon feature classes, polygon A and polygon B. I would like to write a VBA to perform a select by location function to find out which polygon(s) in polygon B is/are intersect with a selected polygon in polygon A which is selected by a user. I know, I can use "ISpatialFilter" to do this, but don't know how to implement it in VBA. Would you mind provide some sample code/hints for me ? Regards Gary

Thank you for your suggestion. I has studied these IPoint's ConstrainAngle and ConstrainDistance methods but don't know how to use these methods to compute the centreline. Would you mind tell me how do you use these methods to compute the centreline? Regards, Gary Sham

Actually, I have searched the esri forum before and find out some related posts. However, they are not very useful in my project. Therefore, I post a new post here to ask anyone for suggestions and ideas. "http://forums.esri.com/Thread.asp?c=93&f=992&t=83405" seem not useful as it talk about how to construct a line perpendicular to centreline but not talk about how to from a centreline. I have also gone through http://forums.esri.com/Thread.asp?c=3&f=38&t=71339&mc=13#msgid190020 http://forums.esri.com/Thread.asp?c=3&f=38&t=71339&mc=13#190147 http://forums.esri.com/Thread.asp?c=3&f=38&t=76045 Regards Gary

Thank you for your suggestion. I know there are some existing tools in the market can perform similar function. However I don't have resource to buy this tools and I cannot modify these tools. So I would like to implement it and fit to my project use. Do anyone have ideas how to implement it or sample code/algorithm for reference ? I find out some concepts (??Medial Axis?, ??Skeleton?......) but have no idea how to implement it. Regards, Gary Sham

Thank you Venkat Tammineni. The sample software just focus on point layer, but I would like to use the polygon as a input data and generate a centerline for it. Do you have any idea about this ?? I read some paper about ??Medial Axis?, ??Skeleton? and seem they are useful concept in this project. However, I cannot understand their algorithm and don't how to implement it. Do you have any idea about this ?? Regards Gary Sham

Dear all, I am working on a project to create a centerline from a polygon automatically. The user select a polygon and click a button, the centerline will create for him. I have tried the build-in function ???Collapse Dual Lines to Centerline???, but it cannot perform well so I decide not use this function in this project. In further study, I find out some terms such as ???Medial Axis???, ???Skeleton???, ???Voronoi polygon???, those are some concepts related to centerline formation. However, I find difficult to understand those algorithm. Does anyone have a suggestion to me for this project? Does anyone have a suggestion for how to implement those concepts in ArcMap? Is there any sample script or algorithm I can refer to as reference? Development language: C#, VB.Net ArcGIS : ArcMap 9.3.1 Best regards, Gary Sham
