Hello, I have 2 sets of data collected for one site using a total station that was positioned in two separate places (because of limited visibility of the site being surveyed). I have used "spatial adjustment" "affine" to stick the data together using three common points. On a 2-d (X-Y) level this has worked fine, however, the heights have not come together - there are several metres of difference in the height of adjacent points. Should I be using a different transformation? Or is there a way to link the z-values as well? When I open the "view link table" option I see that only x and y are matched across. Please help! Thank you

Thanks Simon, I will try that. all the best Is the data within each mxd file in seperate shapefiles/feature classes? If it is in seperate shapefiles/feature classes you can just copy and paste from the table of content to another...since it is just the mxd pointing to the data and displaying it. Or you can open both mxd's and drag a feature from one to another. If you want to merge shapefiles (i.e. the data within them) you should use the 'merge' tool under 'data management' in ArcToolbox. Hope that helps.

Hi This is probably a very basic question, but I am a self-taught user. I am using 9.2. I have a load of data on a .mxd file and a load of data on another one - is it possible to join/merge/amalgamate the two or would I have to set up all the links again to make one combined file. Some of the material is actual vector data, some is raster and some is e.g. lines that I have drawn. Thank you so much
