I used the IDW raster interpolation tool in the Raster Interpolation toolset in 3D Analyst Tools to create a raster surface from a set of points in ArcScene, but the resultant raster displays as a flat plain. I tried setting the base height to the layer itself, but it remains flat. How do I get the interpolated surface to display in 3D according to the field I used to create it? Thanks Doug Sharp

Ah yes - was thinking that the average density would be the same for each pixel. Forgot that the count is divided by the total search area. Thanks

I used the NONE value in the Population field and set a search radius such that many of the cells in the output raster included only a single point within their search radius. I was expecting that these cells would have a value of 1.0 but they don't. Here are input parameters for two runs of the tool: Population field: NONE Output cell size: 30 Neighborhood: Circle Radius: 400 Area units: SQUARE_KILOMETERS Cell value in cells that have a single point within the search radius: 1.989437 Population field: NONE Output cell size: 30 Neighborhood: Circle Radius: 500 Area units: SQUARE_KILOMETERS Cell value in cells that have a single point within the search radius: 1.273239 Shouldn't the pixel values in both of these output rasters have been 1.0? How exaclty are output raster cell values calculated in the Point Density tool? Thanks Doug Sharp

I'm looking for a way to do the statistical calculations for a Quadrat analysis in ArcGIS 10. (I have an ArcInfo license with Geotstatistical Analyst and Spatial Analyst extensions.) I have looked in the various toolsets but haven't found anything. I've created my grid and done a spatial join of my dataset of points to the grid cells, so I've got my cell counts but don't see a simple way to go beyond this point within ArcGIS. I looked at Andy Mitchell's Vol 2: Spatial Measurements & Statistics and he indicates that ArcVIew has this capability, but I don't see it in ArcGIS Desktop. I can offload the data to STATA and work through it there, but that seems like a lot of unnecessary work. Any suggestions of how I might do this within ArcGIS Desktop? Doug Sharp
