Using the Stream to Feature tool, results an output of line segments that shows which direction each cell is flowing. See attached image. The computer knows these values - it created them as a Flow Direction Grid (see attached explanation) - but they do not appear in the Stream-to-Feature attribution. I can symbolize these line segments - and the arrow appears at the correct end to show the directionality of the segment. This tells me the software is READING the Flow Direction Grid value from somewhere. What I want to do is merge together like-direction segments that touch one another. I did some manually on the right side of the screen shot attached. QUESTION: How can I add an attribution column of the Flow Direction Grid value that the computer is reading? If I had a column of those values, I could merge all north-east flowing cells....then explode them. All the ones that are touching will remain merged...any not touching will explode off to it's own group of line segments. This process, while not perfect, will certainly make trying to merge 86K segments MUCH faster. Any ideas?

Whoa! This just ruined my day. We have a client that has 3 end-users for the PDGB we delivered to them last year - 2 of those being non-GIS users that use the Access interface to edit attribution and pull customized reports. It took four years of field work and data development to create - and now I am learning that it will not be accessible or maintainable in Pro?!? Is ESRI planning to address this issue? For now, I can use Desktop 10.6, but for how long? There are rumours that Desktop will eventually fall off, so what then? Will my client no longer be able to use the product we delivered? They use a viewer for seeing the spatial components - and when that needs to be updated, they can hire us on an hourly basis to make spatial edits and mass data updates thru the join feature. Not having the Access interface will make this operation untenable. How would we help future clients with a similar structure/usage?

Melissa, Not 100% sure on a simple solution to your particular issue in South America, but I can share my experience on a recent project calculating areas in the USA. It was a housing inventory spanning the country. Building envelopes were laser measured by field staff and drafted in CAD - so I knew the exact gross square footage. Those footprints were pulled into GIS and snapped to GPS points. My contract required product delivery in Web Mercator (since the end user views ALL of the houses), but the calculations I performed in Web Mercator were WAY off of what the CAD measurements were telling me they should be. I had to break my calculations up into State Plane sections. For example, California: I queried my data by all of the footprints that fell inside Nad83 State Plane California zone IV, changed my data frame to that projection, performed the Calculation. Then I moved on to query just the footprints that fell in California zone 5, Calculated geometry for those records, and so on. My calculations matched the CAD calculations +/-1 sq. ft. - the slight difference in measurement was due to the footprints being rotated to snap to the GPS points - when I performed the calcs BEFORE snapping and turning them, they nailed the measurement with the CAD value every time. Maybe you'd need to do the same? Is there a smaller, more localized projection you could use for individual sections of SA? Then you could just calculate sections at a time using the Data Frame projection, but your overall data does not change its native projection.

You asked for the name of the symbol...internally, we call it "Directional Flow Arrows", but I'm not sure if that is the "Official" name for the symbol you are seeking though....
