Great comment, Chelsea. I have not played with Attribute Rules (AR) for a while, but those are great points. It would be very helpful to Calculate Lat/Long in WGS84 decimal degrees. Regarding your main example with autopopulating the municipality name on a point layer. Attribute Assistant (AA) would use the feature class in the current map (ArcMap) or project (ArcGIS Pro). I am not sure how it works in Attribute Rules, but it would be useful to configure such a rule to point directly to a production feature class. As long as all editors have access to this read-only layer, this should be a straight-forward rule to configure. If anyone from the community or the Esri team has any updates regarding the Attribute Rules capabilities, it would be great to learn more.

I generated an infographic as part of a local government response to the COVID-19 pandemic. It would be great to use demographics data for my municipality (city) and provide COVID-19 cases/deaths/recovery figures based on the most detailed geography available. Esri did an amazing job providing templates and resources for public sector agencies to provide public information and resources in response to COVID-19. However, it would be very helpful to build some flexibility into the template as more detailed information becomes available. Manually added case information in image below - circled in green. For example, only state-level data was available early on. We now have access to county-level data, which is a welcomed improvement. It would be great to see flexibility added to COVID-19 (and other) BAO infographic templates in future releases.

The following expression has been tested successfully on a number field and text field to provide functionality similar to INTERSECTING_FEATURE in Attribute Assistant. I still need to test the example provided from GitHub. Kudos to Adam on the Technical Support team for researching and providing the Arcade expression for testing. Arcade Expression: var FCB= FeatureSetByName($datastore,"FeatureclassB") var fset = Intersects(FCB, $feature) for (var f in fset){ return (f.FIELDNAME)} In AA terms, "FeatureclassB" and "FIELDNAME" are the feature class name and field name you would enter in the VALUEINFO field in the Dynamic Value table. As a user who is still in the early stages of testing AR, I prefer the GP tool interface for Add Attribute Rule over the Attribute Rule View accessed via the Contents Pane (right-click feature class, Design, Attribute Rules). Help documentation links for both provided below. I may come around to the Attribute Rules view as I become more proficient with AR and Arcade. Create an Attribute Rule documentation Add Attribute Rule (GP tool)

I will test the expression at my earliest convenience and provide feedback on the thread. If this provides a solution for INTERSECTING_FEATURE, that would be a huge win.

Attribute Rules (AR) is the widely promoted replacement for the Attribute Assistant (AA) tool used in ArcMap. Attribute Rules are designed for use across the ArcGIS platform, using Arcade expressions to apply calculation, constraint, and validation rules to feature classes and feature layers. Attribute Assistant has proven to be an extremely valuable data integrity and editing tool for many Esri users throughout the years. However, AR has not achieved functional equivalency to AA as of the ArcGIS Pro 2.5 release. For example, AR does not currently have an equivalent to INTERSECTING_FEATURE from AA. As with most things Esri, the best way to gain attention from the development team is for customers to chime in regarding the need for this functionality and how it will help/impact their business needs. Improved AR documentation and functionality will greatly improve the user experience of ArcGIS Pro for day-to-day editing and data integrity. I am optimistic other users - especially AA users - will chime in and offer their input for improving AR in future releases of ArcGIS Pro. For those using Arcade expressions in AGOL, I am sure AR improvements will help you as well. If there are any other specific AA rules you would like to see implemented for AR, I look forward to seeing the feedback from my fellow AA users. For the community's reference, there is currently a bug associated with this item, originally reported at the ArcGIS Pro 2.4.2 release (#BUG-000127290).

I agree. It would be helpful to be able to update a map service URL or data source from an AGOL map. This functionality would be very helpful as our data sources improve and are eventually migrated to a map service pointing to a registered GDB. This would come in very handy for any users migrating data sources to a new database and/or server.

I am also looking for guidance and documentation for adding Attribute Rules to a dataset. As stated by @Michael Kolz, the limitation/restrictions associated with Attribute Rules are a definite deterrent to migrating to ArcGIS Pro. Add Attribute Rule—Data Management toolbox | ArcGIS Desktop Note: Once you have added attribute rules to a dataset, the minimum client version for the dataset is ArcGIS Pro 2.1. This means that the dataset will no longer be available for use in ArcGIS Desktop. Requested Enhancements/Updates - It would be helpful if Attribute Rules could be used on FGDB tables/feature classes. Currently only valid for enterprise GDB. - Enhanced Attribute Rule documentation for different rule types (intersecting feature, autonumber, expression, timestamp, nearest feature, etc). Documentation and examples are very helpful for Attribute Assistant (for ArcGIS Desktop). - Ability to import Atttribute Assistant rules from ArcGIS Desktop into Attribute Rules. It would be very helpful to see the translation for working Attribute Rules, especially for those of us learning to write/edit rules using Arcade for the first time. - Ability to turn Attribute Rules on/off. This functionality comes in handy with the Attribute Assistant toolbar for ArcGIS Desktop. While this may currently be a deterrent to migrating to Pro, I am optimistic Esri will make significant enhancements with future releases. It will be interesting to learn about improvements to Attribute Rules at the Esri UC next month.

I am unable to rotate features in a line feature class during an edit session. Lines exported from CAD (.dwg) to FGDB feature class. Projected coordinate system added to line feature class: NAD_1983_StatePlane_California_VI_FIPS_0406_Feet The error message from the Rotate tool says: "The feature(s) could not be rotated. The coordinates or measures are out of bounds." As an alternative, I attempted to move the line features to an area with existing features. The same error occurred for the move/edit tool in ArcMap. "The features could not be moved. The coordinates or measures are out of bounds." Screenshots attached for both errors.

Performance issues with map layouts in ArcGIS Pro 2.0. It consistently takes 10-15 seconds for a map layout to refresh even when making changes as minor as legend or scale bar appearance properties. I am still very early in the learning process from ArcMap to ArcGIS Pro. However, my organization cannot migrate to ArcGIS Pro if we continue to experience current performance issues. Testing is done with data and projects saved to the local hard drive. Existing performance issues will become more pronounced once we begin connecting to data resources hosted on our network and/or internet resources (i.e. AGOL). Local machine is 32GB memory, dual six-core SSD, Windows 7 64-bit OS. Any feedback or comments are welcome and appreciated.

Derek and Rebecca, When reviewing the technical requirements for ArcGIS Desktop 10.4.x I noticed that SQL Server 2008 was not on the list of supported SQL platforms - Rebecca pointed this out as well. Thank you to Derek for providing the KB article to verify this information. I installed SQL Server 2012 Native Client on a test machine and was able to add a connection to a SQL Server 2008 R2 database. Hopefully this will help someone else in a similar situation. Our organization is currently in the process of modernizing many of our enterprise applications to the most current version possible. SQL Server is likely next as we migrate away from SQL Server 2008 R2.
