News & Updates Announcing the 2024 Network Management Release Plan Starting in 2021, we designated specific long-term support releases of ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Pro as Network Management releases. We recommend our ArcGIS Utility Network customers and partners remain on or upgrade to these versions of ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Pro. To date, we have announced two Network Management Release plans, first in 2022 and the second in 2023. The advantage to being on a Network Management release is the promise of regular patches for both ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Pro directly related to utility network workflows. We are excited to announce the 2024 Network Management Release plan, consisting of ArcGIS Enterprise 11.3 and ArcGIS Pro 3.3. These new versions are set for release in May, 2024. Learn more. New Export Feature Attachments Tool in ArcGIS Pro Feature attachments are great, but its always been a bit of a pain to bulk export these attachments for use in other reports or to reduce the feature storage and credit consumption in ArcGIS Online. Previously, a custom python script was needed to export feature attachments, but with the latest release of ArcGIS Pro a new Export Attachments tool is available. Using Arcade to Create a Status Graphic Arcade is a powerful and versatile expression language that allows you to unlock the full potential of your GIS data. With its ability to manipulate and format data, create dynamic content, and customize the appearance of pop-ups, Arcade offers endless possibilities for enhancing your maps and applications. The example Arcade expression referenced in this blog shows how you can create a status graphic within a web map layer pop-up. This graphic can provide a rich visual indicator for the status of a feature versus listing out the status in a simple attribute field list. Tighten Up Your Edits with Editing Constraints in ArcGIS Online We’re always looking for ways to make editing in ArcGIS Online easier and more efficient. Hi @JuhaHaanpera, there are two ArcGIS solutions for telecom network management. Communications Data Management and Communications Utility Network Foundation. Communications Data Management leverages hosted feature layers and is used for basic asset mapping and high-level design planning. It does not leverage the utility network. Communications Utility Network Foundation leverages the utility network and supports fiber strand documentation and network tracing. This solution does not provide a splicing tool so the only way to create connectivity associations is by using the out of the box associations panel in ArcGIS Pro or the API, which is not ideal for managing many strands and splices, which is why many users leverage partner solutions. Here are some resources to learn more. News & Updates Broadband Consumer Labels The FCC has rolled out their mandate for most ISPs to provide broadband consumer labels. The main objective of these labels is to simplify the understanding of broadband service options for consumers, enabling them to make well-informed decisions when selecting their internet service providers. By standardizing the presentation of information, the labels aim to achieve the following: Enhance transparency: Consumers will have access to clear and consistent information about prices, speeds, and other crucial aspects of the service. This will help them understand and compare internet offerings without any confusion or ambiguity. Promote fair competition: With a standardized labeling system in place, internet service providers (ISPs) are encouraged to compete fairly based on the quality and value of their services. This ensures that ISPs cannot hide important details in fine print or use misleading tactics to gain an unfair advantage. Empower consumer choice: The labels provide comprehensive details in an easily accessible format, empowering consumers to choose services that best suit their needs and budgets. By having all the necessary information at their fingertips, consumers can make informed decisions and select the most suitable internet service for themselves. Overall, these labels play a crucial role in demystifying broadband service offerings, promoting transparency, fair competition, and empowering consumers to make informed choices. To make standing up these labels easier for ISPs who leverage ArcGIS, we have provided a template that leverages Arcade and pop-ups to present these labels in a web map. Check out how to set up these browband labels for your organization in TGI5 episode 101. TGI5 - Episode 101 - Broadband Consumer Labels Configure layer attribute search in maps and app Did you know you can configure the map viewer search to search through layer attributes, an not just places and points of interest?
