Is there any literature out there (white papers, etc) that describes factors to consider when deciding whether to use On-Line Workforce app vs installing Workforce on hosted Portal? I would like to get the architecture correct before configuring my first app. Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

Whoops! Answered my own question. To make a copy one can edit the application, change something, and select Save As. Sorry for the spam.

I would like test a certain widget in a production AGOL application w/o affecting the production application itself. Typically, in other development environments I would make a copy of the production application and that would become my development/testing application. I do not see an easy way to copy (duplicate) a AGOL web application. Am I missing something here? How does one go about developing/enhancing an existing application that is in production w/o affecting the production application itself. --- flummoxed @ FDOT

I maintain a general GIS data viewer AGOL application that includes 100+ layers of data. We've done our best to categorize the data but users must still drill down to find the layer in order to turn ON for display in the Layer List widget. I'm curious to know if anybody has attempted to implement a Search by Layer name tool that would allow users to quickly search the Layer list to find matches (and then be able to turn layer ON)? Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Yes! I'm not alone. Chelsea Rozek sorry to hear your having the same problem, but I'm glad I'm not going crazy. I was not able to solve the problem. My work-around is to limit Suggestions/Results to 1 (tried 0, but widget would not accept it) and educate user to key-in entire search string and click search icon manually. It kills me that the user can't select a match from the pull-down as this greatly promotes usability (and that's a prime strength of AGOL in my mind). If I find a solution to the problem I'll post it here and please do the same on your end.

Thanks for the quick reply Kelly, Unfortunately, the data itself is behind our firewall. I'll see if I can upload the data to AGOL and duplicate the problem. If so, I'll send you a link. Thanks again.

I implemented a Search Widget in an AGOL Web Application. The data source is a feature layer (polylines) contained in a map service in the associated Web Map. The field I am searching is a text field containing the alphanumeric pipe ID of the associated storm drain pipe (e.g. 10P10066). When I enter the pipe ID and select a pipe ID from the pull-down list (see attached) AGOL returns an error message "No Results Found...". However, when I copy/paste that exact Pipe ID into the Search input box and select search icon AGOL finds the pipe. Why do I get a "No Results Found" error message when selecting that exact same pipe from the pull-down list? This is very useful functionality that I would like to work and not have to direct users to key-in entire name rather than select pipe from pull-down list. Any assistance is greatly appreciated! Thanks much, Steve Branson FDOT D7 GIS Coordinator
