We are currently preparing our users and environment in readiness for the deprecation of classic story maps and Web App builder. We have a bunch of Apps developed by different users, and it has been very tedious going through the apps one by one. I am wondering if I can get help in this forum, or anyone knows of a script or model that I can use to list all apps that were developed using WebApp builder as well as WebMaps that were created using Classic map

This option wouldnt work for me because of the cost attached. I would be required to justify the cost and this is not a justifiable because it is an Esri application and they expect that Esri should have a solution to the issue.

Hello all, I am working on Cleaning up some of the unused web maps, apps, and feature layers in my Portal for ArcGIS 10.9.2. I tried using a script recommended on the Esri website, " Find dependencies in Portal for ArcGIS using ArcGIS API for Python [support.esri.com]." unfortunately, the script listed all the dependencies on the entire Portal Site, in a very messy way that it was difficult to uniquely identify the files. I tried to narrow it to the folder level by editing the script, but that didn't work. I tried to delete some of the web maps and apps manually, but I ended up deleting some of the critical files and having to rebuild the apps again. I would really appreciate to get some help here

Thank you very much once again Bilal! That resolved the problem. I believe my Web adaptor was overloaded with temp files and also my ArcGIS server was showing the temp folder as 10GB . I am just wondering why that should be an issue as I still have about 63GB free disk space on my ArcGIS server and the portal for ArcGIS was about 132GB free drive size.

Hello, everyone. I am sincerely hoping I can get some help here. I recently upgraded our ARcGIS environment from 10.7 to 10.9.2, including the ArcGIS server and Portal for ArcGIS. Everything has been functioning very well for almost six months, and suddenly, we are no longer able to publish any web or feature layers to the servers. We are also not able to overwrite existing services. Each time I keep getting this same generic error "Failed to publish web layer" I have tried publishing from various ArcGIS Pro and even ArcMap, without success. I came across some suggestions to check the SSL certificates and ensure they are not expired. I have done all that, yet I have had no success. I need some help here. I also have another issue which I do not know if they are related and that is, the Logs on the ArcGIS server is not displaying, it keeps spinning and spinning. Could this be a bug?

Esri had released some patches for the enterprise ArcGIS of which we were unaware. Thank you, George, for the suggestion and link. I got the issue resolved by running the "Check for ArcGIS Enterprise Updates" search on my Portal for ArcGIS server. It came up with two patches which also include a security patch. The patches were installed, and the issue resolved.

I have a major concern about the collaboration between ArcGIS Online and Portal for ArcGIS. Organizations with a fully functional ITS are bound to have their network security like Firewalls that block off access to their internal servers which includes the ArcGIS servers and Enterprise Geodatabase. This is the case of my own organization, so in most cases, efforts to edit layers that are situated inside your Enterprise Database from external sites like ArcGIS Online will be hard because of the firewall. But doing the same thing with the Portal for ArcGIS worked perfectly because that is within our intranet. In your case, I will advise you make a choice to have your field maps published and edited on ArcGIS Online or on Portal for ArcGIS. Unfortunately, most of these Esri Apps work perfectly with ArcGIS online as a lot of them are not even available on Portal for ArcGIS. I am hoping that Esri will look more closely into the collaboration issue between ArcGIS Online and Portal for ArcGIS as it has also not worked for our organization. It has been a big issue here too

I'm very happy to announce that this issue has been resolved. These are the things I did. 1. Reindexing to update the index 2. Restart Portal for ArcGIS Server Service on the portal server 3. Clear Browser cache 4. Contact Esri support Analyst and we did further troubleshoot and the only additional click that got the issue resolved was this: We do have two Portal for ArcGIS URLs; one is the public facing and one is internal which I didn't bother to check or click on since I completed the upgrade. The internal URL has the server's name in the URL So, we decided to check out the Internal URL and that worked very well, and all the Portal contents displayed correctly. So, we went back to try the public facing URL and somehow it started functioning well, all the information in the content folder now displayed correctly. So we suspected that the clicking on the internal URL refreshed the entire server content and enabled them to be displayed the Public facing URL. But for sure, I do not understand the technology behind the incident; so, anyone that can have better explanation to this would be appreciated and an added knowledge here. thanks all

I recently upgraded from enterprise 10.7.1 to enterprise 10.9.1, Everything went well but i found that the personal content folder of my users no longer displays their maps and apps, and they are unable to overwrite or publish maps to their content folder. I have done the -reindexing and restarted the portal for arcgis service on the server - that didn't resolve the issue I checked the storage size on my portal server, - that has more than enough space >603GB Now my users are all down. I notice there seems to be a disparity on the contents path showing on the portal admin and the one showing on my server. The portal admin Jason shows this --- {"type":"fileStore","provider":"FileSystem","connectionString":"E:\\arcgisportal\\content"} While the physical server drive shows this --- E:\arcgisportal\content\items Could this be the problem?? the next subfolder Items??? Please I need urgent help on this as all my users are currently unable to do anything

Hello Everybody! Please I really need help with this python script. The objective of the script is to list all the mxd files in the specified folder, identify all the layers within the mxd that were sourced from my old SDE database server, and then change the layer source to my new SDE database server. In other words, the main purpose of the script is to do a bulk data source change for all the layers in my mxd files So far the script is able to list all the mxds and the paths of the layer sources but it is not changing the data sources for layers in my SDE as needed import arcpy, os, getpass newServer = "TNR-GISSQL19-P" user = getpass.getuser() #user_dir = os.path.join(u'C:\\Users\\', user) user_dir = u'Y:\\VIEWERS\\T' ### this specifies the directory containing the mxd files os.chdir(user_dir) ############create logfile############ logfile = open("logfile_for_Shade_upgrade.txt", "w") ## creates a logfile print>>logfile, "User's home directory: %r" % user_dir ############create mxdList############ mxdList = [] for dirpath,_,filenames in os.walk(user_dir): for name in filenames: if name.endswith('.mxd'): mapdoc= os.path.join(dirpath, name) mxdList.append(mapdoc) print>>logfile, "------MXD List:------" ############print MXDs to logfile############ for mapdoc in mxdList: print>>logfile, mapdoc for file in mxdList: print>>logfile, "---Searching for SDE connections in: %r" % file filePath = os.path.join(user_dir, file) mxd = arcpy.mapping.MapDocument(filePath) for lyr in arcpy.mapping.ListLayers(mxd): try: if lyr.supports("dataSource"): try: ## if lyr.supports("SERVICEPROPERTIES") and lyr.serviceProperties['ServiceType'] == u'SDE' and 'Server' in lyr.serviceProperties and lyr.serviceProperties['Server'] == u'Frogmouth': if lyr.supports("SERVICEPROPERTIES") and lyr.serviceProperties['ServiceType'] == u'SDE' and lyr.serviceProperties['Server'] == u'frogmouth': ## print>>logfile, lyr.serviceProperties print>>logfile, "layer uses Frogmouth" try: serverName = lyr.serviceProperties[u'Server'] databaseName = lyr.serviceProperties[u'Database'] if not databaseName.endswith('.sde'): databaseName += '.sde' print>>logfile, "Updating: %r, %r:" %(lyr.serviceProperties['Server'], lyr.serviceProperties['Database']) layerName = lyr.datasetName print>>logfile, "Layer name: %r" % layerName if lyr.supports("workspacePath"): find = lyr.workspacePath ## herein lies the problem, some lyr.workspacePath do not exist print>>logfile, "Current path: %r" % find replacePath = os.path.join(user_dir+"\\AppData\\Roaming\\ESRI\\Desktop10.7\\ArcCatalog\\",os.path.os.path.basename(newServer)+"_"+databaseName) print>>logfile, "New Path: %r" % replacePath mxd.replaceWorkspaces(find,"SDE_WORKSPACE",replacePath,"SDE_WORKSPACE",False) print>>logfile, "****************%r has been updated successfully" % lyr.datasetName else: print>>logfile, "!!!!!!Connection path not valid!
