As shown in the attached image, the label leaders cross. I'm using Maplex. A search of the forums and help does not offer instruction how to set Maplex to avoid this. If I use standard labeling, one label loses a leader but at least the positioning makes sense: Please ensure Maplex does not produce overlapping leaders.

No idea. If it’s possible to do it with TINs though, do it. At least with other layers which could be surfaces, like .TIF files, have it as a step during adding it to the data frame that you can choose to use elevation values from that surface rather than automatically overlaying it on the surface defined already as ‘ground’. I have a feature class of footprint polygons that I want to use to hard clip a TIN. I selected the footprint I wanted, then used that feature class in the Edit TIN tool. What resulted was the entire TIN having no nodes. This looks like the Edit TIN tool does not recognise selected records, and uses everything in the feature class being used to edit the TIN. This is because polygons for that feature class cover the entire TIN, so if I hadn't selected one and used that layer to hard clip the TIN then I'd expect it to result in no nodes. This has implications for a model I have created which iterates through rows of the footprints feature class. Now I need to add new steps to the model to export new feature classes for each row then clip by that new feature class. Please can Esri make the Edit TIN tool respect row selections in the feature class being used for TIN editing.

Hi Jeremy, Yes. For any type of surface added not just TINs. I see how there is a concept of 'ground' in ArcGIS Pro. I guess this doesn't exist in ArcScene. I want to easily be able to see the difference in elevation between surfaces that I add. If I have to laboriously go and stop a new surface I add being drawn on the elevation of another one then this makes the whole process frustrating. Wil

I was adding TINs. It was comical to see their colour symbology overlayed on another surface. I didn’t play with any rasters or other surface types. Basically, if a surface you’re adding to the 3D viewer has its own elevation information, automatically use that rather than a surface already in there. Hi Dan, Thanks for responding. Yes I don't know what happened. I did try joining it to the table output of the 'find duplicates' tool but it was taking too long so I cancelled the operation. There is currently no join therefore. Perhaps cancelling it caused the problem though. I have also been copying the whole file gdb from my network drive to a local drive a couple of times as I've been testing and performing things on a copy rather than the master version. If successful on the copy, I am then deleting the master and putting the copy back on my network drive. Perhaps amongst all of these cancelled joins and copying back and forth it became corrupted. Well, the order of the fields became mixed up. The points still display fine. The check geometry tool returns no errors. Wil

Hi Luke, I made a stupid mistake. The shape field was halfway down the list. Usually it is the first field, for some reason in this feature class it was somewhere in the middle of all the fields. Thanks for trying though. Wil

I have a file .GDB with a feature class of topographic survey points. It's projected to Zone 38N. There are 108,278 points. The easting field is called EASTING, northing is NORTHING, elevation field is called PostExcZ and when I use the Add Z Information tool it adds the elevation values from PostExcZ. In the properties of the feature class it is listed as having Z values. Why then, does the Shape checkbox not appear in the list of fields to find duplicates in the Find Identical tool? I just ran this tool on my initial topographic survey feature class (1.4m points) and the Shape checkbox appeared. Without the Shape checkbox I am not sure what to do to find the duplicates. I selected the EASTING, NORTHING and PostExcZ fields but the resulting duplicates table had the same number of records as the input. This is wrong. Thanks, Wil

I really wanted to love ArcGIS Pro. I did in fact love the fact that it allowed for simultaneous viewing of 2D and 3D of the same layers. This is awesome. What is NOT awesome is when I add a surface I have to then laboriously go in to the settings of it and tell ArcGIS Pro that, yes, I indeed do what the base heights for that surface to come from that surface, not some other surface. It is silly frankly that ArcGIS Pro developers didn't want to assume that this is how the user would want the automatic response of this program to be upon a surface layer being added. I have never before when using for example ArcScene used the baseheights from another surface, essentially just putting for example the surface symbology from one surface onto another one. This doesn't make sense as a default option, yet this obscure way of operating is the default. Thank you for stopping being silly.
