Thank you for taking the time to reply. Unfortunately your example code didn't work for me, It's still not returning any users from that custom role. I think the issue is that the role name may not be valid criteria for use in the query. For example, in searching for users in the 'Administrator' role nothing would be returned. If, however, I use 'org_admin', which I found buried in some documentation it works. This leads me to wonder what I'm supposed to use as criteria for searching by custom role and where I'm supposed to find it? Docs concerning roles: http://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-online/reference/roles.htm Docs were I found the 3 constants (org_user, org_publisher, org_admin) for built-in roles: https://developers.arcgis.com/python/guide/accessing-and-managing-users/#about-user-roles Example: users = gis.users.search('role:Administrator') # returns 0 users = gis.users.search('role:org_admin') # returns actual count

Our portal installation is configured with enterprise logins and allows users to auto create an account when they authenticate for the first time. We also have a custom role called "Auto_Created" which is the default role for new user accounts. I would like to get a list of users in this role and perform some nightly administrative tasks. I can get the role via the roleManager, but I'm unable to successfully perform a search for users with the role name as criteria (see attached screen grab). [EDIT] Yes, I am certain that more than 0 users in our portal are in the "Auto_Created" role. Would appreciate any pointers. Thanks!

I have a working solution, doesn't seem optimal to me, but maybe this is just how things get done in geoevent. I set a filter which captures the subset of values I want to normalize, then run a field calculator on the subset. See screen grab.

I'm interested in calculating a field value, if a condition is met. So, for example, a GeoTagger is used to enrich my event with a value, let's call it "TRUE". If the geotagger condition wasn't met, the field has a value of NULL. I would like to calculate these NULLS to "FALSE". Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I'm seeing duplicate popups returned by the .NET SDK (100.0) release: Using the same web map, an identify on a feature using ESRI's default JS webmap viewer returns a single popup as demonstrated in this screen grab. Clicking on the same feature in a sample WPF app (using the IdentifyLayersAsync() method) returns an IdentifyLayerResult which contains two popups, which appear to be duplicates. Notice matching objectids written to the VS output window: I've checked the underlying data that drives the map service and there isn't anything weird like duplicate features in the feature class. Regardless the JS API seems to be doing it right. I'm stumped. The web map is linked above and the sample WPF app is attached for Esri's convenience. Thanks in advance.

I asked because it did already have an editable feature service in it and had been saved a couple of times. I just loaded the map, authenticated against the feature service and then saved it again. Would definitely encourage something that indicates if the map is ready for Collector. Thanks again!

That works, so thank you very much for the quick reply. Is that a bug in AGOL and/or Collector or something else. Not very intuitive to have to do that!

Hi, I've got a webmap that has been shared with a group in our organization. AGOL accounts within our organization are set up as members of this same group. When users login to their account they can't see the map in Collector 10.2.4 on iOS. They can login through a browser, validate membership in the group, see the map and open it up. Is there any additional criteria that needs to exist for a map to be visible to Collector? Thanks, Mike

If I were you I'd take a look at TileMill and the mbtiles format instead of TPK. TileMill is free and much easier to use to create tiles, and its not hard to write your own tiled layer and tile operation to get the tiles from the mbtiles file. Would you be willing to share code you have that allows for use of MBTiles in the iOS SDK? Thanks! MQ

Hi: Will there be a WebMercatorUtil class available in the iPhone API, similar to the Flex API? This is a popular and convenient class in the Flex API for taking lat/lon geocoding results and projecting them to Web Mercator for display on modern basemaps. Or do we need to use the AGSGeometryService task? Trying to keep the lines of code to a minimum, Matt English If this is something you need now, here are a couple javascript functions that you could port to Obj C. I wouldn't go back to the server for that kind of thing if at all possible. function ll2meters(lat,lon) {
// Converts given lat/lon in WGS84 Datum to XY in Spherical Mercator EPSG:900913
var originShift = 2 * Pi() * 6378137 / 2.0;
var ret = StructNew(); mx=0; my=0;
mx = lon * originShift / 180.0;
my = Log(Tan((90 + lat) * Pi() / 360.0 )) / (Pi() / 180.0);
my = my * originShift / 180.0;
ret.x = mx;
ret.y = my;
return ret;
}
function meters2ll(mx,my) {
// Converts XY point from Spherical Mercator EPSG:900913 to lat/lon in WGS84 Datum"
var originShift = 2 * Pi() * 6378137 / 2.0;
var ret=StructNew(); lon=0; lat=0;
lon = (mx / originShift) * 180.0;
lat = (my / originShift) * 180.0;
lat = 180 / Pi() * (2 * Atan( Exp( lat * Pi() / 180.0)) - Pi() / 2.0);
ret.lat = lat;
ret.lon = lon;
return ret;
}

The SDK does not currently support working in offline mode. For all practical purposes, network connectivity is required to work with GIS services. The map control does try to make efficient use of the network, but it relies on having access to the GIS services at any given point. However, this is very valuable feedback and we will take it into consideration going forward. Are there any special circumstances under which your application may need to work in a disconnected environment, or is just due to unavailable/choppy network connection? _ Divesh Thanks for the feedback, Divesh... can't encourage ESRI enough to consider offline and disconnected capabilities in this SDK. The general scenario I have in mind is: 1) Wireless networks are sometimes unavailable, unreliable or get congested. The ability to cache base map data allows a user to continue working (doing data collection, for example) if they have the context of these maps. My application keeps track of network availability and caches the user input locally then uploads it to the server when connectivity returns. The missing piece would be base maps. The reason for the lack of connectivity could include being in a rural area, it could be post disaster and the cell network is down, it could be because the user is in a building or area of wireless interference. I also would be very interested in the answer to gvernar's question: Could AGSTiledLayer be subclassed such that my class could take on the responsibility of serving locally persisted basemaps?

Agree with this request... having cached tiles available, to get a user through a period of limited or no internet connectivity would be very, very valuable.
