#localscene #verticaldatum #3dwarehouse One of my students imported models into a Local Scene (ArcPro 2.4) and when I open them, the z is exaggerated (see below). When I open them in ArcScene 10.7, it looks like the second image. The models are in NAD 83 Stateplane Florida West (2007). Any ideas as of what's happening?

Try using the Export to 3D Web Scene tool in the 3D Analyst/City Engine Tool Box.

As for the location, that depends what coordinates the model has going in. Does it have the same coordinate values going in? Or do you have it in a WGS UTM or something like that, then trying to project it on the fly? That doesn't work. Either way, you can move, scale, etc with the 3D editor.

Hi Zach, I had to rotate the model in Sketchup, then bring it back to ArcGIS. I have had the upside down issue as well. One that was inside out! I think the rotate tool is new and has not been perfected. If you don't have Sketchup, you can rotate in Mesh Lab too. And it's free. Hope this helps.

Hi Robert, I wish. ESRI only allows one authorized caller for our entire site and it's not me. I've been trying since 2010. I'm left to solve all my problems on these forums. I get 1 in 5 solved. Usually move on to another software. Thanks, Steven

Hi Robert, So ArcGIS Pro rotate tool does let you rotate around the x and y axes. For me, it doesn't show the tools options until I pan around a bit. However, the tool didn't work like it should. I'm going to post a new thread based off this problem. How do I contact 3D Support Services? Thanks, Steven

Thanks Robert, I'm way past that point. When I import the models, they are never in the right orientation. Sideways, upside down, inside out. I've tried to reorient, translate and change the axes on them in the various modeling applications, but no change. If there was a flip or rotate around the x or y axis, I'd be set.

Hello, I've have been at it for 2 years now and I can't for the life of me import a 3D model generated from different modeling applications. I've tried straight from Geomagic, which always has axis issues, no matter what rotation I apply. I've tried from mesh lab, same issue and I loose the texture in that process. Anyone have usable import instructions for .obj or 3ds? Thank you, Steve

Hello, I created custom scales in my Tile scheme of a drone orthophoto. Uploaded to AGOL as a hosted Tile Layer. Now the image is only showing at one of the scales, even though 4 of them match (564, 282, 141 & 70). Not exactly sure which one. I set my web map to have the same custom scales. Any info on what's going on.

No, that tool only rotates the model around the Z axis. Thanks for your reply, Steven

I have imported textured dae models created using reality capture and mesh lab. The resulting multipatch feature class looks great, but I can not get the right axes down. I've tried dozens of combinations. I've rotated the model around all three axes and the best I can get is an upside down multipatch. 3D editing tools only rotate around the Z axis. Is there a way to rotate around the X or Y? Thank you, Steven

When they are grouped I can accomplish this. However, I don't know how I got them grouped.

Hello, I continue to have hillshade problems with LiDAR Data. Below is a view of a hillshade created from a 1 meter DEM created from Terrestrial LiDAR. You can see a grid effect. Anyone know what's the problem? Thanks

Hello, I am trying to digitize pyramid like features. I realize I can use a surface with the interpolate polygon tool. However, It will be a massive pain to create two seperate surfaces for the base and then for the structure tops. I tried creating a 3D Feature class in Arc Catalog and while editing (drawing my sloped walls) I was snapping to 3D Polylines. I figured if it was snapping, the z values would translate. They didn't, the new shape only snaps to x,y coordinates. Any Suggestions?
