Hello, We are currently working on a project in which we use the ArcGISOnline REST API to do some operations on ArcGISOnline feature services like synchronization etc. We need to know whether we will get affected regarding the launch of Esri’s ArcGIS Platform. https://developers.arcgis.com/documentation/mapping-apis-and-services/migration/ In this website, it states: ”If you have an ArcGIS Online account or ArcGIS Enterprise account and have developed an application or solution that uses ArcGIS Online services other than ArcGIS Platform location services, the migration timeline below does not apply.” “Applications that (…) utilize the REST API endpoints directly must migrate to ArcGIS Platform location service endpoints by April 30th, 2022.” So, as far as I understand, the endpoints will smoothly and automatically migrate to ArcGIS Platform services in April, therefore we don’t need to tweak our applications and our REST API code at all, because the REST API mechanism will stay the same. Do I understand it correctly? This is the website for REST APIs: https://developers.arcgis.com/rest/ This, for example, is one of the operations that we use among many others: https://developers.arcgis.com/rest/services-reference/enterprise/add-features.htm

Hello, My feature service URL's are like this: "https://services1.arcgis.com/[Organization ID]/arcgis/rest/services/[Feature Service Name]/FeatureServer" Why does my organization have this server url, namely "https://services1.arcgis.com"? Why is it "services1"? Why not "services2" or "services3"? Can this server url be different for different organizations that have an ArcGISOnline account? Related, but a different question. I want to learn this host server url only via Rest API. https://www.arcgis.com/sharing/rest/content/users/[My Username]/ I can use the url above to get the content (that is, all items) in my account, find a service (for example, feature service, tile service etc.), and get the URL of that specific service. From the URL of that service, I can figure out the host service URL. However, if I don't have any service in my content, there seems to be no way to learn the host server URL by using the REST API. Just an example to clarify what I mean. Let's assume that I know the username and password of a specific user on ArcGISOnline. By using this information, I can generate a token. By using this token, I can do lots of things, such as displaying the items on his content, learning which groups he is a member of, upload an item to his content, creating a feature service etc. However, I want to learn the URL of the server in which his feature services exist. More specifically, I want to learn the <host> part of its ARCGIS Server endpoint URL structure which you can see in the below documentation: Get started—ArcGIS REST API: Services Directory | ArcGIS for Developers How can I do that?

Hello Kelly, thanks for the reply. The option that you mentioned is for updating the data. The documentation says: "You must use the same source file type and schema when you overwrite a hosted feature layer." What I am looking for is just adding another layer with a completely different schema while keeping the data in existing layers as it is. For example, please take a look at the attached screenshot. In this case, there are already four layers in my hosted feature server. I want to add a fifth layer into this. Is it possible?

Hello, I already have a hosted feature service. Is it possible to add another layer into this? For example, when I try to publish a shapefile, the system forces me to give a different feature server name, hence it creates a separate feature server. If this is indeed possible, how can I do it by using the REST API? Thanks

There is a way to change the alias of a feature layer's field through the REST API: https://developers.arcgis.com/rest/services-reference/update-definition-feature-layer-.htm However, I want to change the field's name not the alias. Is it possible to rename a field after the feature layer is published?

In addition to the Zeno 20 NMEA output we have recently developed, the proxy solution is now implemented and successfully tested. In order to enable Collector for ArcGIS functionality on a Zeno 20 again, a few settings have to be applied on the Zeno. A step-by-step document can be obtained from your local Leica Geosystems sales rep. For further technical questions, please contact our support (zeno.support@leica-geosystems.com). - Alex Leica Geosystems

Thank you for your patience and understanding regarding this matter. As outlined from Michael, we are working together with Esri on several options in order to fix that issue. One option is now ready. From now on, Zeno 20 can be used as external sensor. NMEA data is streamed through Bluetooth to smartphones/tablets. If this option is helpful for you, please get in touch with Jason Hooten and he will provide you the new Zeno Connect app for your Zeno 20. In addition we continue working on further options and we will be able to share more information soon. - Alex Leica Geosystems

Hello, As you can see in the screenshots attached, one of our team members has a ghost item in the account which we can neither delete nor access in any way. We come across this problem quite often recently. How can we solve this by ourselves? There is another related question. This item can be seen if I click on "All My Content", but it doesn't exist in any of the folders, including the root folder. How is this possible? The username of this account is also in the attached image.

Hi, I was using the REST API. Publish Item—ArcGIS REST API: Users, groups, and content | ArcGIS for Developers The problem seems to be gone today although I haven't changed anything in my source code. Is there anything that I can do if I come across the same problem again?

I use a very simple, lightweight shapefile. Publishing it sometimes takes 20 seconds, sometimes takes 10 minutes, sometimes takes forever. Changing the settings of a feature service also takes a lot of time, more than half an hour! I never had such issues before. Has there been any change in ArcGIS Online recently? What could be the problem?

By using the REST API, I have tried to upload a zipped shapefile that is on my computer to my ArcGIS Online account as an item. I used the URL below: https://www.arcgis.com/sharing/rest/content/users/Zeno_10/addItem And these are the five parameters that I have used: "f" : "json" "dataUrl" : @"D:\Temp\Shape12.zip" "title" : "Shapeeee" "type" : "shapefile" "token" : "[My token Text]" You can see the JSON response below: { "error": { "code": 400, "messageCode": "CONT_00272", "message": "!CONT_00272!", "details": [] } } I have two questions related to REST API: 1-) Which parameters do I need to use if I want to upload my zipped shapefile to the Contents in my ArcGIS Online account? I have looked into the documentation below but couldn't figure out which parameters to use and how. Add Item—ArcGIS REST API: Users, groups, and content | ArcGIS for Developers 2-) The error message is impossible to understand. What does "CONT_00272" mean? Is there a documentation that explains these error codes? Thanks

I am developing an ArcGIS Pro Add-In (not ArcGIS Pro Configuration). In my Add-in project, is there any way to get notified and execute some code when the user opens up the ArcGIS Pro application? I know that there is a class called ApplicationStartupEvent, but in order to use this class I need to subscribe to it first without having the user click on something in the ribbon. Is this possible? Or is it true that using ArcGIS Pro Configuration is the only way to achieve this?
