We are trying to find a way to add alt text to the thumbnails in the Left hand panel of our arcgis online shortlist in order for the page to be ada compliant. We were thinking of adding a field to the csv (we are using the Import option) but not sure what to name it so that the Shortlist Builder can use the field as the alt text for each thumbnail. Any thoughts or advice? Thanks in advance.

Hi Mr Scheitlin. when trying to configure the enhanced search so our users can search by choosing from a dropdown: i am trying to figure out how and where to type in those comma-separated-values you mention above.... Once i go to edit the expression in Update Expression Value, how can I get the search to list all the animal options on a dropdown? thanks in advance for any help.

yes, thank you Nathan! I followed the steps you described to create a new shortlist and although it still placed the ALL tab in the middle, the builder did give me the option to ORGANIZE TABS this time. I will make sure the thumb field name is corrected for the updated list of projects and i will use this procedure to create a whole new story map shortlist.

Nathan, the 'as-is' option doesnt allow for much modification. The only edit it allows for the Tabs is to change the TabColor. All the data is grabbed from the csv.

Hi, Nathan. I appreciate your response and help. I am using the 'as-is' option obviously, which according to the included ReadMe, requires a specific template with specific fieldNames. One of the required fields is TAB_NAME, which is what the shortlist builder uses to create the tab names."TAB_NAME - the name of the tab the place will be displayed in. The Shortlist will create a tab for each unique value of this field, in the order in which the values occur in your data. A TAB_NAME field still has to be present and populated even if your Shortlist will only have one tab. If your Shortlist only has one tab, the tab name you include in this field does not appear to your end users. If the value of this field is blank for any place, that place will not be displayed if you create your Shortlist with the 'as-is' authoring option, so you can leave the field blank to temporarily hide a place." the ReadMe also states: "The value of PLACENUMSL has no effect on the order of the tabs in your Shortlist:Tab order is determined solely by record order". while i do include a PLACENUMSL field in my csv, i have the numbering option turned off in the settings. click here for csv i hope you can see my file from that link. not sure how to attach it here.

Hi, all. We want to include the ALL tab in our shortlist, so i duplicated our records in the csv and set the tab_name for the second half of my records to All, because i want the ALL tab to be last. but once i uploaded the csv onto my shortlist, the ALL tab appeared in the middle and i cant figure out why. Any ideas?

Hello. we have configured an app to use Crowdsource Polling. We downloaded the source files from github and are hosting the app on our server. After some struggles, we have it working, but now would like the user to be able to skip the section with the comment button and previously submitted comments. What we need is when the user clicks on a list item (or polygon on map), they are directed to the comment form. i guess we need to give the list items or the polygons the functionality of the commentButton. Does anyone know if this is possible and in which files we'd have to make the modifications? thanks in advance for any guidance.

Mr. Scheitlin, thank you so much. this worked perfectly. Now the problem i am having is after drawing the buffer, when our users add TEXT to the map with the AdvDraw tool, any text on the buffer is not editable (please see attached screenshots). when we right-click on the text, we dont get the edit options. (NOTE: i made the buffer rings hollow hoping this would make the TEXT editable, but no luck)

Hello, all. a while back i downloaded a buffer tool that fit our purpose fairly well but now with my limited WAB experience i am stuck. it was made i believe by Mr. Scheitlin and called cotBuffer (cot = City of Tulsa?). the tool allows you to enter distances and then you click on the map and it will create buffers from your clicked point at the distances specified. Only i noticed the measurements are off and in reading about it, I need help in adding geodesic properties to the measurements like the Draw and Measure tool have. where to add that in the cotBuffer code? also if someone could help in making the buffers in 3 different colors, as they have to denote Hot Zone, Warm Zone, and Cold Zone. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Buen dia, CONABIO. I have used your instructions to change the markers for our map tour, thanks! Now I had just one question: we are using the yellow markers, but have changed the font color on them to black for better visibility. I am trying to change the corresponding colors on the carousel markers. I thought I could do that in Carousel.css but my numbers on the carousel are still white against a yellow background. i could use some guidance, please. Rocio

how can i modify the arrows and numbers next to the close button on the popup window? it seems many of the users are not very computer saavy and do not realize when they click they get multiple results, so i was asked to bring more attn to the toggle numbers and arrows. i have looked in the PopupRendererskin.mxml and the InfoWindowSkin.mxml and i can see a close button, and the InfoWindowLabel, but not sure where to change those little numbers. i have included a screenshot of what im referring to. i am using api for flex 3.0 thanks for any help.
